Food for thought: 🧠 our words shape the way we think. The way we think determines the way we feel. How we feel determines what we do. And what we do determines whether we get results or not. 🤔 I’m talking about being aware that there are certain words that you use (everyone individually uses) that boost your energy levels, and some words that drag your energy down. That’s right!✨ That’s how powerful words are✨Certain words and phrases start to limit you and certain words and phrases start to free you.💫 By transforming the words you use regularly, you literally change your biochemistry, your emotions, your thinking, and your actions. But if you’re unaware, then these words can take over your life and limit you without even knowing it. 🌟

“Therapy wisdom in a nutshell”

✨Your thoughts will shape your reality.

If you feed your mind with encouragement, believe in your strength & have faith in a bright future, then THAT will be your outcome🌟

Emotions, we must pay attention to them. 💫They are our greatest clues in life. 🌌No more pushing feelings down, or bottling them up.

They are our greatest signals & we must tune into them in order for change to occur🌠.

For example❗️Fear comes up to keep you safe, alerting you instinctively to pay closer attention.

-☄️Anger means your boundaries were crossed.

-Anxiety means you are thinking too much about all of the things in your future. 🙌Train your brain to come back to the present and live in the moment.

Motivation alone will not change your life. 🔥Habits will.
Change your daily habits, form a structured routine, and you WILL change your life🔥

Your past is just a chapter, not your whole story. Learn from it & HEAL. ❤️

When someone triggers you, PAUSE.
That trigger is actually mirroring back to you what remains unhealed within you. 🤍

Control, is a myth
So- best to get clear on where it is that YOU are at the steering wheel 🏎️ along the path of your life!
The only true power you have is over the decisions you make.
🌟Choose wisely🌟

At the end of the day,
You are the architect
And your life is the design🌆🌄-
It’s up to you to make it beautiful 🌅

💙Mental Health. A conversation worth having. A voice worth hearing. For over 40 years, the Anxiety and Depression Association of America has been the trusted, science-backed resource for anyone navigating anxiety, depression, and related conditions. Every resource they offer is evidence-based, completely free,
and built to meet people exactly where they are. 🙏We love their website and we encourage you to check it out and spend time reading the personal stories of those who so courageously shared their narratives. Connection is found thru knowing that we are not alone. And certainly, that is one principle that the ADAA has established their foundation on: ensuring that everyone has a place, feels seen, leans in, gains support, and has access to free resources. ✨We see your work ADAA & we are so proud to be partners with you + grateful to feel seen BY you! ✨Checkout : ADAA.ORG & https://adaa.org/educational-resources/from-our-community/stories-of-triumph

🌅This year’s national theme, “More Good Days, Together,” reminds us that progress in mental health is built through connection between providers, families, schools, and communities working side by side.

🤲All of us at Specialized Therapy for Children & Families are inspired by the dedication of our partners who serve youth with emotional and behavioral challenges. For many of the young people in our care, a “good day” may look different than it does for others. It might mean feeling safe enough to engage in school, learning one new coping skill, repairing a relationship, or simply getting through the day with support and dignity. Each of those moments matters.

👏The “More Good Days, Together” theme encourages us to ask two important questions:
· What does a good day look like for the youth we serve?
· And how can we remove barriers so those good days are possible more often?
At Specialized Therapy, we believe the answers lie in early intervention, trauma-informed care, coordinated systems, and strong partnerships with referral sources who know their communities best.

👥Throughout May, we invite you to join us in spotlighting hopeful outcomes, sharing practical resources, and encouraging conversations that reduce stigma around children’s mental health. Whether you are a school professional, healthcare provider, fellow therapist, dietician, or community advocate, your role is essential in helping young people feel seen, supported, and understood.

Hope✨. Help💕. Healing🤍.

✨This May, we’re going deeper than ever. Every Monday throughout Mental Health Awareness Month, we’ll be sharing something we call Mental Health Mondays - a dedicated space for real conversations, expert insights from our much respected colleagues & professionals in the field of mental health, resources for you to check out, and stories from the community that remind us that none of us are doing this alone.
Because the truth is, feeling grounded doesn’t happen by accident. It takes intention. It takes community. ❤️Sometimes, it takes setting time aside, putting on some soft music, wearing your coziest snuggle outfit and giving yourself permission to just breathe. We’re so grateful you’re here. This month, and every month.✨ -Kristy Fernand
