Today, on International Day of Charity, we are reminded that generosity has the power to make a difference right here at home.

At Summit Square, giving supports the people who make our community so special. Through the Fellowship Fund, donors help provide financial support to residents who have outlived their resources through no fault of their own, allowing them to continue calling Summit Square home.

Our Employee Emergency Relief Fund provides assistance to team members facing unexpected financial hardships, offering a helping hand when they need it most.

Both funds are a reflection of what community truly means: caring for one another through every season of life.

Did you know you do not have to live at Summit Square to take advantage of some of the services available right here on our campus?

Our outpatient rehabilitation services are available to members of the greater community, giving you access to quality therapy close to home in a welcoming environment.

Whether you are recovering from surgery, working to regain strength and mobility or simply trying to get back to doing more of what you love, our rehabilitation team is here to help.

It is just one more way Summit Square is proud to serve Waynesboro and the surrounding community. 💙

Summit Square’s Autumn Craft & Vendor Fair is right around the corner, and we cannot wait to celebrate the season with an afternoon of local shopping, sweet treats, community fun and support for a wonderful cause.

Join us and browse handmade treasures, shop from talented local vendors, enjoy seasonal goodies and spend time with friends and neighbors, all while helping support the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. 💜

August was full of good food, good wine and even better company at Summit Square! 🍷🍦

Residents enjoyed a wonderful outing to Greenwood Gourmet Grocery for lunch, followed by a wine tasting at Cardinal Point Winery and, because every good adventure deserves a sweet ending, a stop at Black Bear Creamery for ice cream.

Just another day of making the most of summer and enjoying all there is to explore beyond our doors! ☀️

Today, Summit Square Marketing Director Amanda Argenbright hosted a wonderful Lunch & Learn for prospective residents, offering a closer look at life at Summit Square.

Amanda was joined by Rehab Director Kelly Butler, who shared more about the outpatient rehabilitation services available right on campus. Executive Director Matt Dameron also joined the conversation to provide an update on the strong financial health of Summit Square and what that continued stability means for residents today and in the future.

It was a great afternoon of good food, meaningful conversation and an opportunity for prospective residents to ask questions and learn more about everything Summit Square has to offer.

Meet Marlie, one of Summit Square’s most charming residents. 🐾

Marlie lives with his human, Pam, in her apartment at Summit Square, and it is safe to say Pam is not the only one enjoying community life.

From finding the perfect sunny spot for an afternoon nap to keeping a watchful eye on everything happening outside the window, Marlie has settled right into his Summit Square home. He has his favorite places, his daily routine and, of course, plenty of attention from the people who know and love him.

For Pam, having Marlie by her side makes her apartment truly feel like home. And for Marlie? We have a feeling he thinks this whole retirement living thing is pretty great.

Because at Summit Square, home means having the people, and pets, you love right there with you. ❤️🐱

Three Summit Square name badges. Three different job titles. Nearly a decade of growth between them.

When Jacob McCauley looks at the badge he wore when he first joined Summit Square in 2016 and the one he wears today, they tell quite a story.

Jacob joined Summit Square in 2016 as a server, not necessarily knowing where the opportunity would take him. A lifelong Waynesboro resident and graduate of Waynesboro High School, his educational background was actually in information technology. He completed entry level certifications and programs in computer programming and robotics before discovering that his career might take a very different direction.

It did not take long after joining Summit Square for Jacob to realize he had found an industry, and a community, where he could see himself building a future.

“I started working at Summit Square in 2016 as a server and knew quickly that this industry was the right fit for me,” Jacob said.

Over the years, Jacob has worked his way through nearly every aspect of Dining Services. He has served residents, worked in the kitchen, supervised team members and taken on increasing levels of responsibility. Each role gave him a different perspective on what it takes to create an exceptional dining experience.

Now, that journey has brought him to his newest role as Summit Square’s Director of Dining Services.

National Relaxation Day feels right at home at Summit Square.

Maybe your perfect way to unwind is sitting outside with a good book, enjoying a cup of coffee with a friend, taking in the mountain views, or simply having an afternoon with absolutely nothing on the agenda.

Retirement should leave a little more room for moments like these.
