As for “how do I get over my pet passing?”
Well, around here, I don’t encourage folks to just get over it. But instead, it’s more about getting to know your grief. Learning to visit it like an old friend.
Because let’s face it, if you’re lucky, you’ll experience grief again in your life — especially if you currently have other pets (but the same applies for human loss, too).
Compartmentalizing grief, especially disenfranchized grief like pet loss, harms you, your community, and younger generations that you influence.
Think about the difference you could make within your community by actively becoming the elder that you want within your life.
One that knows how to hold space for grief, instead of running from it.
Who knows how to show up for folks with support, aid, food, silence, and has a heart-led approach.
Especially one that knows how to walk the walk alongside herbs? Wow, now we’re talking.
So no, your grief isn’t an isolated experience, but instead, is seen within the stars.
When you experience major life changes like death, it’s written in your chart.
Time and time I see it expressed in clients’ charts, but it also shows a path on how to integrate this loss, and read the message that’s begging to be found now — instead of in 5 years when the download hits you one day on your commute to work.
That’s why my work — whether we’re speaking in a. 1:1 session or you download a digital workbook — is something sacred. I’m not changing you, YOU are doing the work and you’re interpreting something HUGE. I’m just a catalyst and a beam of support to help you put yourself back together intentionally. We integrate the loss of your pet instead of letting it haunt you.
