I recently had the opportunity to be in Newport Beach, California, with Unity/BillionToOne, serving on a physician panel to discuss their prenatal genetic diagnosis product, provide clinical insight, and help prepare sales representatives for success in the field.

It was rewarding to collaborate with teams that are passionate about advancing patient care through innovation, education, and meaningful partnerships. I’m grateful for opportunities to contribute and represent the physician perspective alongside so many talented professionals.

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms holding babies in their arms, the women waiting and praying to become mothers, the ones navigating loss, and those who love and care for others with a mother’s heart.

Condoms, vaccines, and regular STI testing can help you and your partners stay healthy if you’re s*xually active. It’s also important to have a conversation with s*xual partners about each other’s health before having s*x.

Post menopausal bleeding is never normal.

If you’re experiencing vaginal bleeding and are over the age of 52, or have been diagnosed as menopausal previously, please call your OB Gyn for an appointment.

Screening and early detection are key to fighting cancer. About 90% of patients who go on to be diagnosed with endometrial cancer have postmenopausal bleeding—but transvaginal ultrasonography, the method used to examine postmenopausal bleeding, doesn’t always catch cancer at first examination.

To help improve ob-gyns’ ability to detect and diagnose endometrial cancer, ACOG now recommends that endometrial tissue sampling be used alongside transvaginal ultrasonography at first examination to give clinicians a more reliable path to detecting and treating uterine cancers.

This dual approach reduces the risk of a missed diagnosis while also streamlining the process for patients, who can have sampling done in the same visit as their ultrasound. If you’ve experienced postmenopausal bleeding, speak with your ob-gyn to learn more.

However, it’s hard to watch the medical research community now spending resources to definitively disprove issues we have long laid to rest.
