Here's why you're having the same fight and still haven't solved the problem.
Because you've been trying to solve the content instead of the pattern.

The topic might be different.
But underneath it, you keep doing the same dance:
One person reaches.
The other defends.
One gets louder.
The other shuts down.
Then both feel unseen.

Until you change what happens between you when you're triggered, the topic can keep changing while the pattern stays exactly the same.

Do you recognize this pattern in your own relationship? Share your experience in the comments below or share this post with someone who keeps having the same fight.

I thought intimacy meant knowing everything about my partner.

Then I realized it meant being able to actually feel them.

I could know their history.
Their triggers.
Their childhood wounds.
Their fears.
Their patterns.

And still miss the person standing right in front of me.
Because knowing someone's story isn't the same as being present with their experience.

What happens when you stop analyzing?

When you notice their breath.
Their posture.
The shift in their energy.
The sadness underneath their anger.
The softness underneath their defenses.
That's a different level of intimacy.
Not just knowing about someone.
But learning how to actually feel them.

Share this post with someone who wants to experience a deeper kind of intimacy in their relationship.

Most couples know their partner's trauma. Do you know their ALIVENESS?
We spend enormous amounts of time learning:

What triggers you?
What hurts you?
What happened to you?
What do I need to avoid?

Important information.

But I want to know something else too.

What makes you come alive?
What makes you forget the time?
What kind of touch makes your whole body soften?
What makes you feel powerful?
Where do you feel most free?
What makes you playful?
What are you secretly hungry to experience?

Knowing someone's wounds can help you love them carefully.
Knowing their aliveness helps you love them fully.

Tonight, ask your partner:
“What are three things that make you feel most alive that you want MORE of in our relationship?”

Then shut up and get curious.

“I love you” isn't the most intimate thing your partner can say to you.

“I love you” is beautiful, but sometimes the most intimate thing you can offer your partner is letting them know how they actually feel in your body.

“Here’s what I experience when I’m with you…”

Then speak for 60 seconds without telling them who they are.

Not:
“You're so loving.”

Instead:
“My chest relaxes around you.”
“I notice myself wanting to get closer.”
“I feel playful when you walk into the room.”
“My body gets quiet when you hold me.”

There's something profoundly intimate about being experienced rather than evaluated.

Send this to someone you want to try it with.

Phrases that feel like a warm hug to someone who is tired of feeling alone in their relationship.

“I can feel how much this is hurting you.”
“I’m here. I’m listening.”
“You don’t have to convince me that this matters.”
“I want to understand what’s happening for you.”

Sometimes what your partner needs isn't another solution.
They need to feel you with them.

That feeling of “I’m not alone in this anymore” can change everything.

Waiting for the couple who has had the same argument 47 times to find my account so I can show them why talking about it more isn't fixing it.

Money.
S*x.
Chores.
Time.
Parenting.

You keep talking about the same thing, hoping that eventually you'll finally understand each other.

But sometimes the problem isn't that you haven't talked enough.

It's that you haven't felt it together.

Relational pain can keep resurfacing when it hasn't had enough safety, presence, and connection to move through.

The goal isn't to win the conversation.
It's to find each other inside of it.

I stopped trying to make my partner understand my pain and started learning how to let them actually feel me.

There is a difference between explaining your experience and letting someone truly meet you inside of it.

Sometimes we keep adding more words because we're desperate to finally be understood.

But your partner may need something different.
Your presence.
Your vulnerability.
Your body.
Your willingness to stay connected while the uncomfortable feelings move through.
That's where deeper intimacy can begin.

If this resonates, comment “Energetic Intimacy” and I’ll share my free training with you.

Most couples think they need to communicate better.

They actually need to learn how to regulate together.

You can have the perfect communication technique and still end up in the same fight.

Because when your nervous system is activated, you're not just listening to your partner's words.

You're responding to everything underneath them.

The tone.
The tension.
The contraction.
The fear.
The energy.

Learning to stay present with yourself while staying connected to your partner is a completely different relationship skill.

Have you noticed how differently you communicate when you're calm versus activated? Share your experience in the comments below or share this post with your partner.

The annoying truth about relationship conflict: sometimes your partner isn't the problem. Your reactivity is.

Your partner says something that hurts.
Your body reacts.
You defend yourself.
They feel dismissed.
They react.

Now you're both triggered and neither of you remembers what the original conversation was about.

This doesn't mean your feelings aren't valid.
It means your reactivity may be adding another layer of pain to something that was already tender.

Learning to notice the moment your system takes over can change the entire pattern.

If you're ready to understand your reactions differently, comment “Energetic Intimacy” and I'll send you my free training.

I wish more couples knew that your partner feels your state, not just your words.

You can say:
“I'm fine.”
While your body is tense.

You can say:
“I’m listening.”
While internally preparing your defense.

You can say:
“I love you.”
While energetically pulling away.

Your words are only one layer of communication.
Your body and nervous system are communicating too.
And your partner is often picking up on more than you realize.

Curious about what your body might be communicating in relationship? Comment “Energetic Intimacy” and I'll send you my free training.
