We are incredibly proud to recognize our own Katie Cornelius as our second Hero of the Community Award recipient! ❤️

While attending a music festival in White Sulphur Springs, Montana, Katie sprang into action when a man suddenly became unresponsive. She quickly recognized he was in cardiac arrest, activated EMS, and began high-quality CPR. Within minutes, his pulse returned, and thanks to Katie’s calm, decisive actions and the rapid response of emergency personnel, he survived.

Katie’s courage, training, and willingness to act truly saved a life. Her actions also remind us of the lifesaving importance of CPR training, access to AEDs, strong EMS services, and rural hospitals.

Please join us in congratulating Katie on this well-deserved recognition and thanking her for being a true Hero of the Community!

MCHD Maintenance Department is working on improving the area around our main hospital entrance. We received free dirt from the Weaverville Rodeo Arena, and several loads were delivered to us by Silver Top Tree Service free of charge. We really appreciate their thoughtfulness!

One of the most exciting parts of Nurses Week is celebrating the incredible nurses who make a difference every day and announcing our annual DAISY Award honoree!
This year, we are proud to recognize Katie Cyr, RN, as our DAISY Award recipient. The DAISY Award is a nationally and internationally recognized honor that celebrates nurses for their outstanding dedication to compassionate patient care. Throughout the year, patients, family members, and coworkers submit nominations to recognize nurses who go above and beyond through their kindness, compassion, and commitment to those they serve.
