William W. Talbott passed peacefully at Hubbard Hospice in Charleston, West Virginia, on August 31, 2026. He was born November 11, 1934, in Webster Springs, West Virginia, son of the late Reginald and Opal Talbott.
He was a proud graduate of Webster Springs High School, Potomac State College, and obtained his law degree from West Virginia University. He was a veteran of the Unites States Navy. Bill dedicated his entire career as an attorney serving Webster County as Prosecuting Attorney for many years, and as a well-respected defense and general practice attorney. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Webster Springs, and a long-standing member of Addison Lodge #116 AF & AM.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda B. Talbott; his parents, and brother, Joseph Talbott.
Bill is survived by his children, Bryan Talbott, Cynthia Hamrick (Gerald) and John Talbott (Evgenyia); grandchildren, Jordan Talbott (Nate Villar), Drew Talbott, Whitney Hamrick, Dane Hamrick, and Scout Hamrick, and two great-grandchildren, Jullian Villar and Jolene Villar. Also, surviving are sisters Jill Shaver, Mary Lopez, Martha Lipscomb, Sarah Hamrick, and Rebecca Jackson (Sheldon), as well as several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends who will mourn his passing.
In accordance with Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held. His final resting place will be at the family camp on the Back Fork of Elk River, a place that held a special place in his heart.
