WCCHIt is our desire to allow our residents to live in a warm, loving home-like atmosphere of support and encouragement during their final months of life. We believe in the Hospice philosophy of care: all persons have the

right to die with dignity, to have an enhanced quality of life for the remainder of their days, and to be as comfortable and pain free as possible. Webster Comfort Care is a comprehensive and compassionate 2-bed home for the dying in the Webster community. It is a true home-like atmosphere, not a health care facility or a hospital. We ascribe to the hospice philosophy of care that states that all persons have the right to die with dignity, to have enhanced quality of life, and to be as comfortable as possible. Our primary goal is to provide comfort care, symptom control and pain management for our residents, as well as to be a source of respite care for the families.

Webster Comfort Care Home was proud to participate in the Volunteer Fair at the Webster Public Library on Saturday, May 2! With 24 organizations represented, the event was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our community and share more about our mission.

Our Volunteer Coordinator, Lucy, enjoyed a fun and engaging day filled with meaningful conversations and new connections. We were able to provide brochures and information about the Home to many attendees, and we’re excited that several potential volunteers who met us at the fair have already reached out to begin the volunteer process!

Thank you to the Webster Public Library for hosting such a fantastic community event, and thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to learn more about how they can support compassionate end-of-life care in our community!

Some of the sweetest moments at WCCH come from the smallest acts of kindness. Recently, those moments have been coming from Maci and her puppy, Blu.

Maci has loved baking since she was young, first learning alongside her godmother. After hearing her mom and sisters talk about their volunteer experiences at the Home, she decided she wanted to help in her own special way — by baking at the Home once a week. What started as a thoughtful idea has quickly become something more. Maci and Blu have filled the Home with smiles, hugs, and excitement every Wednesday.

Recently inducted into the National Junior Honor Society, Maci immediately thought of WCCH when community service was discussed.

One resident recently returned from a hospital stay and shared that she needed to be back by Wednesday — because stuffed shells, cupcakes from Maci, and a visit from Blu were waiting for her.

It’s hard to put into words what these visits mean to our residents, volunteers, and staff. Maci’s kindness, compassion, and generous heart remind us all how powerful simple acts of love can be.

Thank you, Maci and family, for sharing your time, your talents, and your hearts with us. We absolutely cherish you all!
