As temperatures start climbing this summer, don’t forget hydration plays a huge role in energy, recovery, and overall health.

A simple cue to gauge hydration? Check your urine color — light yellow is the goal. Darker urine may be a sign you need more fluids.

A general hydration goal is around 35 mL/kg body weight daily, with electrolytes added when needed — especially during long runs, outdoor activities, heavy sweating, or time in the heat.

I’ll be sharing a more detailed post soon on how to choose the best electrolytes based on your individual needs because not every option fits every person.

Keeping meals simple is my thing — and sometimes that means relying on packaged foods.

I love mixing and matching some of my favorite frozen + fresh items to make meals easier and less stressful. Grabbing salad kits, frozen grains, pre-cut veggies, or convenience items is not a bad thing, especially if it helps you stay consistent and on track with your goals.

Nutrition doesn’t have to mean making everything from scratch. Simple, realistic meals still count.
