Postpartum depression affects minority women disproportionately.

By implementing appropriate support measures, we can work towards preventing, identifying, and addressing postpartum depression in minority communities through physical therapy.

Providing culturally competent care, language access, supportive networks, and education are key steps toward ensuring that minority women receive the support they deserve during this vulnerable period.

It is our responsibility as physical therapists and healthcare providers to create an atmosphere where all new mothers, regardless of their background, can thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally.
