Before ➡️ After 👣✨

When a bunion and hammertoe are causing pain, difficulty wearing shoes, or interfering with everyday activities, sometimes correcting both deformities is the key to restoring better alignment and function.

This before-and-after result by Dr. Louis-Charles shows the correction of both a bunion and hammertoe—addressing more than just how the foot looks, but the underlying structural problem. 🙌

The goal?

✨ Better alignment
👣 Improved function
👠 Less pressure and irritation in shoes
❤️ Getting our patients back to walking and doing what they love more comfortably

Every foot and every surgical plan is different. An evaluation helps determine which treatment is appropriate for each patient.

✨ Connection. Collaboration. Community. ✨

A little recap from our first intimate physician networking dinner — an evening that reminded me just how powerful it is when women in healthcare come together. 🤍

We spent the evening connecting, sharing ideas, learning more about each other’s specialties, and discussing how we can better collaborate to provide exceptional care for our patients.

But this was only the beginning. 💫

Our goal is to grow these gatherings and make them a more frequent event, creating a space where women across healthcare can build genuine relationships, support one another, exchange knowledge, and ultimately become stronger resources for both our patients and our community.

There is something special about getting women in medicine around the same table — not just to network, but to connect, collaborate, and grow together.

So grateful to every incredible woman who joined us for our first dinner. 🥂

Here’s to building a stronger community of women in healthcare — one connection at a time.

Supportive shoes don’t have to mean sacrificing style. 👠👟✨

One of the questions I hear all the time is:
“Do I have to stop wearing cute shoes?”

Not necessarily!

What matters is understanding what your feet need. The right orthotic support can help improve alignment, distribute pressure more evenly, support your arch, and reduce stress on the feet and ankles.

And here’s the good news: depending on the shoe and your individual foot type, an orthotic or properly selected insert can sometimes give you the support you need without giving up your personal style. 🙌

My rule?

👣 Choose the right shoe for the activity.
👣 Look for good structure and stability.
👣 Make sure your orthotic fits the shoe properly.
👣 And remember—not every shoe needs to be an orthopedic-looking sneaker!

Because taking care of your feet shouldn’t mean completely changing who you are or how you like to dress. 😉

Support your feet. Keep your style. Walk confidently.

FROM THIS ➡️ TO THIS. 🦴✨

A displaced ankle fracture can completely change your ability to walk in an instant—but the goal of surgery is to restore the alignment, stability, and function of the ankle so healing can begin in the best possible position.

For this patient, we used a minimally invasive approach, stabilizing the fibula with an intramedullary fibular rod and placing percutaneous screws through small incisions to restore the ankle alignment.

Why minimally invasive when appropriate? 👇

👣 Smaller incisions
👣 Less disruption of the surrounding soft tissues
👣 Stable internal fixation
👣 Restoration of the ankle’s alignment
👣 A pathway toward getting the patient back on their feet

The X-rays tell part of the story—but ultimately, it’s about helping our patients heal, regain function, and get back to their lives.

From displaced ➡️ reduced ➡️ stabilized ➡️ recovery.

Every fracture is different, and the surgical approach is individualized to the patient and injury.

One of the questions I get asked the most is: “How do you balance it all?”

My answer usually surprises people…

I don’t.

I don’t think anyone truly balances everything all the time.

I’ve learned to think of life like juggling. Some balls are made of glass, and some are made of plastic.

The glass balls are the things that can’t be replaced if they break—my family, my health, my integrity, my patients.

The plastic balls? They can bounce. Laundry. Emails. A project that waits another day. A perfectly organized house.

The hard part is knowing which is which.

Some weeks my practice needs more of me.
Some weeks my family does.
Some days I need to protect my own health.

That’s not failure.
That’s life.

So if you’ve been feeling like you’re falling behind because you can’t “do it all,” maybe you don’t need better balance.

Maybe you just need permission to prioritize differently.

💙 What are your “glass balls” in this season of life?
