In 2000, the 40-Goal Rob Walton Benefit was created to raise money for 8-goal Polo Hall of Famer, Rob Walton, who was paralyzed from the neck down in a polo accident. In this inaugural event, many of the best polo players in the world donated their time and efforts to play this exhibition match and raise funds to help Walton meet his on-going medical expenses. lton Benefit and recognizing the need to help other members of the polo community, Dave Offen, Tony Coppola and Tim Gannon founded the Polo Players Support Group (PPSG) and created the annual 40-Goal Polo Challenge to raise funds to help members of the polo community in financial crisis caused by physical injury or illness. Since its inception in 2002, more than $2,200,000 has been given to 69 members of the polo industry.

The Polo Players Support Group extends its most sincere condolences to the family & friends of Adolphus Busch. Adolphus was an accomplished player until a serious back injury ended his playing days. However this didn’t stop Adolphus from continuing to support polo as he sponsored teams for many many years. Adolphus was one of the first people to support Rob Walton after his catastrophic injury that left him a quadriplegic in 1995. Adolphus has been a generous supporter of the PPSG since inception in 2001. A highlight of the 40 Goal auction every year is the Duck Hunt at Belleau Farm, Adolphus’s private hunting grounds outside St. Louis. Adolphus you will be missed but never forgotten.

This spectacular exhibition polo features eight of the world’s best players including so far Adolfo & Poroto Cambiaso, Barto & Jeta Castagnola, Hilario Ulloa, Tomy Panelo, and Polito Pieres, all rated 10 goals.

To date, the PPSG has donated over $4 million to 120 different individuals because of the support the polo community provides at this event!
