Due to a "family emergency" that has nothing to do with these gorgeous Zinnias and the fact that I got the first chunk of my garden tilled last night, I will be canceling my incredibly full day of appointments. 😉

When you have a much growing space as I do, you can afford to plant stupid things just for the fun of it.

This is one of my bushel gourd plants. I can hardly wait for the results. The second photo is what I'm hoping to get. They'll dry and harden and turn brown like the third photo. Some people want cute storage baskets from Target. I want a storage gourd I grew myself. 😆

I say it every year: I love beans. They sprout with conviction. You check on them in the morning and there's nothing going on, then by the afternoon you've suddenly got a 3" tall plant. They're awesome.

This gourd, on the other hand, this is about day four in the sprouting process. It's painful. Like, just come on out or give up already! 😆
