Deep Wells Midwifery Licensed midwife servicing Southcentral Minnesota and Northcentral Iowa. Welcome! I see clients at my office in Wells, MN.

Offering homebirth with complete prenatal and postpartum care, as well as care for mamas planning to birth in the hospital. I'm Nikki - a mama to five beautiful beings and a passionate advocate for women's wellness. I serve Southern Minnesota and Northern Iowa, offering a limited number of homebirth spots each month, as well as prenatal and postpartum care to mamas who want to have their baby in the hospital. I'm also the owner of Barnstone Farm, a limited line of herbal products for women's wellness, which are made largely with plants grown on our five-acre farm.

The outdoor employees were having an impromptu meeting the other morning. They had feelings to share and were waiting for the Regional Manager to clock in.

The working climate appeared to be the top agenda. They were wondering if the new-found closeness they all seemed to be looking for was really in the best interest of the company.

They are wondering who controls the thermostat.

Sorry, friends. That's above the Regional Manager. But the room and board is free, and the sleeping accommodations just got an upgrade.

Rumor has it they are considering organizing to lobby for a new break room, as the one they are currently utilitizing is too small to fit them all.

This is Copper. He is the newest outdoor employee on our property. Copper transferred in from another branch, initially as a temp, but upon his arrival he quickly became determined to become Assistant to the Regional Manager.

Copper, aka Lord Capernicus, aka the little Car Cat, is doing his best to not only fit right in, but to also stand out. Kissing up to the Regional Manager is his specialty, though it's less kissing and more aggressively thrusting his drooling face into my chin.

The outdoor employees occasionally get to go on business trips when the Regional Manager has to pick up the indoor employees (though their work ethic sometimes make the 'employee' title questionable) from things like school or sporting events.

Copper is the first to volunteer to participate in these trips, as any good Assistant to the Regional Manager should.

The indoor employees seem particularly fond of him. No write-ups to report.

This is Lynx. Aka Linky Dinky, aka Lynxalotl, aka The Car Cat.

He is one of the outdoor employees on our property. However, he occasionally has issues with the accommodations.

It was 3:30 a.m. I was headed out to my car to go catch a baby. I open the front passenger door to put my backpack inside, and there, laying on my vest with a look on his face that seemed to be telling me how rude I was for disturbing his slumber, was my car cat.

I have no idea when he snuck in the evening before, but he did.

He was displaced, much to his dismay, and off I went to meet a sweet baby boy.

Lynx is a good employee, but he might be getting written up for his behavior if it continues as the weather cools.

Love this! Also, I had a dad this week, during a consult, state that one of his issues with giving birth in the hospital was that *he* couldn't get naked during the process.

I looked at him for a second and he started laughing. He's like, "That's my one joke."

I share the sentiment of these ladies. I don't care about much, but dads... I prefer it if you keep your britches on. 😉
