Let’s talk about s*x, baby! 💋

Are you an expecting mom? ☺️👶🏼

At Bliss Pelvic Health, we want you to feel strong, supported, and prepared during your pregnancy.

Pelvic floor therapy during pregnancy can look like helping you prepare for birth, manage pelvic pain, modify workouts, improve pelvic floor relaxation, and build strength that will support you during both pregnancy and postpartum.

Pregnancy. Birth. Recovery. Motherhood.

You deserve support through it all. ✨

1️⃣ Don’t ❌ Hold a Kegel While Jumping!

Your pelvic floor muscles need to contract and relax appropriately at the right times to help you stay dry. Holding onto a Kegel can interfere with how well your pelvic floor muscles can absorb force and impact. Also holding onto a Kegel can fatigue out the muscles much faster as well - leading to more leaks!

2️⃣ Land Softly 👏🏼

The harder you land, the more force travels up your legs and shows up in your pelvic floor! We can’t even begin to tell you how many women under our care have significantly reduced (or eliminated!) their bladder leakage by just simply landing softly and letting their calves, quads, glutes, and hamstrings absorb the force.

3️⃣ Stack your ribcage over your pelvis 🤩

If your low back arches, your pelvis dumps forward, and your ribs flare, this can lead to a loss of core control and coordination between your entire core and pelvic floor system. Keeping good posture and alignment while jumping and landing can make a world of difference!

4️⃣ Exhale when you land 😮‍💨

This strategy can work wonders when it comes to managing pressure when you’re jumping and landing! Exhaling on impact helps the pelvic floor naturally recoil and function more optimally!

Be sure to SAVE these tips and see how they help!

This is what we love to see 🥹✨

A pregnant mom who took the time to prepare her body for birth…

Who learned how to coordinate her breath and pelvic floor…

Who practiced pushing mechanics and learned how to work with her body…

And who ultimately had an amazing birth experience!

We are so proud of each and every pregnant mom who comes through our doors to prepare for birth ✨

Birth is one of the most powerful, vulnerable, and transformative experiences a woman can go through. Having the right support around you can make all the difference.

Today, we had the pleasure of meeting Chvana, a local doula from who is passionate about supporting women and families through birth and beyond.

Doulas can help you feel informed and supported during pregnancy, advocate for your wishes during birth, provide emotional and physical support through labor, and continue to walk alongside you during the postpartum season.

Birth and the transition into life with a new baby can bring so many emotions at once. Having someone in your corner who understands the birth and postpartum experience can help you feel supported, seen, and a little less alone.

It truly does take a village. And doulas can be such a meaningful part of that village.

Thank you, Chvana, for all you do for the families in our Tampa Bay community! ♥️

Pain in the 🍑? Tailbone pain can be so tough, but with the right exercises and support, it can feel sooo much better!

If you’re experiencing tailbone pain, try out these stretches and movements. Be sure to pair each exercise with deep, diaphragmatic breaths especially focusing on pelvic floor relaxation and lengthening on each INhale.

Trust us, your 🍑 will thank you!

When Kelsie first came to Bliss Pelvic Health back in 2023, she was pregnant with her daughter with a big goal on her heart: to have a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC)!

When Kelsie shared with us that she wanted to have a VBAC, we gave her a plan to help prepare her body for her upcoming delivery. She put in the work and accomplished her goal!

It’s been amazing watching Kelsie continue to thrive through ongoing monthly wellness sessions at Bliss, making sure she feels strong and confident in her body.

We’re so proud of you Kelsie! 🤩🙌🏼
