When your child lies, it can be tempting to react with anger, but what if what they need most is a safe place to tell the truth? 🤍

We can hold the boundary without making honesty feel scary. The goal isn’t to raise kids who never make mistakes.. it’s to raise kids who know they can come to us when they do.

Save this for the next hard moment. 🫶

As a mother, I know how easy it is for a heartbreaking case to become yesterday’s news once the courtroom doors close and the headlines move on, but the conversations it brings up should never disappear with it. Maternal mental health is something I wish we could talk about without mothers feeling ashamed, judged, or afraid to admit when they are struggling. There are so many women carrying exhaustion, anxiety, isolation, intrusive thoughts, and emotions they don’t know how to explain, often while still trying to smile and take care of everyone around them. I hope we keep listening, keep checking on new mothers, and keep making it safer for moms to say they need help, because behind every statistic is a mother who deserves compassion and support before she reaches a breaking point. 🖤

Neural Nugget: Between 0–3 years old, a child’s brain forms over 1 million neural connections per second. This time in life is the most pivotal, and also the most vulnerable for brain development. Early experiences shape cognitive development in early childhood.

We’ve made the science of baby brain development accessible for all. The Baby Brain Map is your interactive guide to early brain science. Start exploring now and help lay the foundation for healthy growth: https://bit.ly/4w3j4jg

Get out of the trenches with your teen. Stop hyper-focusing on stuff that won't matter in the long run.

I know it bothers you that they wear the same hoodie to school every day, but let them ... (as long as they toss it in the washer every now and then).

I know your son's long hair drives you a little nuts. But that doesn't define his character, or his values.

I know your daughter's new style might make you roll your eyes. But that's just white noise.

Focus on the BIG stuff... that stuff that REALLY matters.
Their character.
Their safety.
Their values.
Their physical and mental health.
Who they're becoming.

Pretty much everything else deserves a whole lot of grace. ❤

It's important that we process our feelings and emotions in a healthy way. How are you learning to process your emotions and not suppress them?
