As July 4th approaches, this is a gentle reminder to be mindful that fireworks can be extremely difficult for individuals living with PTSD, veterans, older adults, children, and those with sensory sensitivities. 🎆💚

Unexpected loud noises can trigger anxiety, panic, flashbacks, and emotional distress for many members of our community. Small acts of awareness and consideration can make a meaningful difference.

If you are celebrating, please consider:
• Giving neighbors advance notice when possible
• Being mindful of late-night fireworks
• Checking in on loved ones who may struggle during this time

If you are a veteran or someone experiencing emotional distress and need additional support, help is available:

As our Older Adult Outreach comes to an end, we want to share how much we enjoyed spending time in the community with our older adult participants. 💚 It was such a meaningful opportunity to connect, share conversations, and remind our older adults that they are valued and cared for.

We were happy to bring small gifts of appreciation during outreach visits, but we know many older adults continue to face everyday challenges and unmet needs. We would love to continue bringing comfort, support, and joy into their lives in meaningful ways.

If you would like to help, please consider purchasing an item from our “Wrapped in Kindness” wish list linked below. Your donation can directly support older adults in our community with items they so greatly need. https://www.amazon.com/ab/urx/listview/22YIWOY48GVXR?ref_=abn_tools_business_lists

Thank you for helping us spread kindness and connection to older adults throughout our community. 💚
