📣Meet Our Team Monday📣
We are excited to share this week’s Meet the Team Monday Member….
SHAYLIE HANSEN, LPCIT, CSAC
Shaylie is a compassionate and dedicated counselor who supports clients through life’s challenges with empathy, respect, and evidence-based care. With a Bachelor of Science in Substance Abuse Counseling from Edgewood University (2020), she developed a strong foundation in addiction counseling and recovery-focused treatment. After graduation, work with Drug Treatment Court and Impaired Driving Court populations gave her hands-on experience supporting people in the justice system. Consequently, that experience deepened her understanding of substance use, mental health, trauma, and behavior change.
In 2026, Shaylie completed a Master of Science in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Concordia University Wisconsin. Moreover, creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental
environment remains central to her practice. In that therapeutic space, clients feel empowered to explore experiences and pursue meaningful change. Additionally, her approach emphasizes
collaboration and respect for each person’s pace. A close family member’s struggle with addiction made her passion for counseling deeply personal. Indeed, witnessing that impact shaped a compassionate and empathetic therapeutic style. Furthermore, those personal experiences increased her commitment to help clients and families find hope, healing, and recovery. Likewise, navigating her own mental health challenges taught her the courage it takes to seek support and heal.
Clinically, Shaylie draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT. By meeting clients where they are, she helps build insight, resilience, and healthy coping skills. Consequently, by working collaboratively she addresses substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and emotional wellness. Finally, treatment is tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.
