Standing Together for Our Horses
Growing up in Northern Michigan

Horses were a foundational part of my life from the time I was a little girl. My family relied on heavy, gentle Belgium draft horses to skid logs out of the woods, a traditional practice we used to keep our impact on the forests as minimal and respectful as possible.
Some of my absolute fondest childhood memories are tied to those beautiful animals—hooking them up to a sleigh my dad built from scratch, riding through the snowy fields to the crisp sound of jingle bells, and hearing their happy whinnies calling out from the barn. I can still feel their soft, velvet nozzles stealing sugar cubes right out of my jacket pockets while I fed them grain.
Because horses have given us so much devotion, care, and unconditional love, we believe it is our turn to protect them.
