mental_health_empowerment_llc As a Black Male Therapist, I am an advocate for decreasing the stigma of mental health concerns

Today is a reminder to recognize the therapists, counselors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, and mental health professionals who dedicate their lives to helping others heal, grow, and feel supported.

Mental health work is deeply meaningful, but it can also be emotionally demanding. Behind every session is a provider showing up with empathy, patience, skill, and heart.

If a mental health provider has positively impacted your life, today is a great day to say thank you.

And to my fellow providers:
Thank you for the work you do, the space you hold, and the lives you impact every single day.

If you feel stuck in life… this might be why.

A lot of people want change,
but they don’t change their patterns.

You can’t expect a new outcome
from the same behaviors.

Growth requires you to:
• Break old habits
• Sit with discomfort
• Choose differently — even when it’s hard

That’s where real change starts. So start setting those boundaries, saying no, reflecting on your values. Being fearless doesn’t mean an absence of fear, but you move forward in spite of it.

What’s ONE thing you know you need to do differently?

Three years ago, I took a leap of faith and built something that mattered to me. What I didn’t know then was how much this journey would stretch me, humble me, and shape me as both a therapist and a person.

I’m incredibly grateful for the growth, the lessons, the late nights, the risk-taking, and the people who supported me along the way. Building a practice from the ground up is not easy, but it has been deeply meaningful.

Mental Health Empowerment was created from a simple belief: that people deserve to feel seen, supported, and empowered to take control of their lives. I’m proud of what this has become and excited for what’s still ahead.

Here’s to three years of showing up, learning, and staying committed to purpose.

There comes a point when you realize that not everything deserves your energy.
You can’t pour into work, relationships, or goals if you’re constantly running on empty.
Self-care isn’t a reward for when everything is done, it’s the reason you’ll have enough strength to keep going.

When you choose to rest, set boundaries, say no, or step away… that’s not weakness. That’s wisdom.
It’s understanding that peace is worth more than people-pleasing.
That healing is worth more than hustling.
That you are worth more than what you produce.

So if it costs your mental health, your peace, or your self-respect, it’s too expensive.
Because at the end of the day, self-care > everything.

Sessions. Notes. Coffee. Chaos. Just another day in the life of a therapist

Bowling night = self-care. Sometimes you just need to knock down a few pins and clear your mind.

This logo isn’t just a design.
It’s a reminder of why I do what I do. When I created Mental Health Empowerment, I wanted it to stand for something real. I also wanted To help people slow down, heal, and find clarity in the middle of the chaos.
Because everyone deserves to live life fully with intention, balance, and peace.

Sometimes we hold on because comfort feels safer than growth. But growth always requires risk, risk of leaving behind what’s familiar, what’s “good enough,” to make space for what’s meant for us.

The truth is, you can’t reach your full potential while clinging to what only partially serves you. Whether it’s a relationship, a job, or a mindset if it limits your peace, it’s keeping you from your greatness.

So ask yourself: What am I holding onto that’s keeping me from stepping into more?

Because “good” will always try to convince you to stay — but “great” is already calling your name.
