I get this question a lot: “What’s the difference between your acupuncture facial and microneedling — and which one should I try?” Great q, and my answer is: it depends on what your skin is asking for. Both treatments work entirely with your body’s own natural healing intelligence — just your skin, doing what it was designed to do.
✦ The Acupuncture Facial: Cosmetic acupuncture stimulates your body’s natural healing response to boost collagen production, improve muscle tone, and increase lymphatic drainage — resulting in a brighter complexion, lifted features, and softened fine lines overall. As for specific lines you want to target — the 11s & forehead lines, marionette, etc — I needle them directly so they soften and fill in. Two sessions in, one patient’s long-standing forehead lines had softened so beautifully. Her friend’s reaction? “It looks like Botox — but better.” Zero pain. Zero downtime.
✦ Microneedling: Tiny needles create micro-channels in the skin that trigger your body’s own wound-healing response — flooding the area with collagen and elastin for smoother, more luminous skin. Think of it as a filter effect for your entire face and neck — evening out tone, smoothing texture, and delivering longer-lasting results overall. There’s about 12 hours of downtime due to redness (sunburn look) but I use numbing cream throughout so you stay comfortable.
For either treatment, the magic really happens in a series of 3 - 5 sessions (depending on skin quality, age, self-care) spaced about a month apart — that’s when my patient’s friends and family say “wait, what are you doing to your face?!”
Curious which one is right for you? Send me a DM — I love helping you figure it out.
