Good morning Comrades, we are proud to report the VA Summer Student Volunteer Program officially concluded with its Awards & Recognition Ceremony on July 22nd at Seawell’s Catering and Banquet Center.
This year’s theme, H.E.R.O.E.S – Helping Heroes, celebrated the dedication of students who completed 120 volunteer hours in the Traditional Program or 150 hours in the Research/Medical Science Program.

Traditional Program students gained hands-on experience across the VA healthcare environment, supporting clinical and administrative teams while building skills in customer service, communication, and professional development. Research/Medical Science students explored careers in medicine, research, and biomedical science through presentations, demonstrations, observations, and facility tours.

92nd Buffalo – Chapter 20 was honored to be recognized during the ceremony for our donations in support of this impactful annual program. We are proud to stand behind initiatives that invest in future leaders while supporting the mission of caring for our nation’s veterans.

We are incredibly honored and deeply grateful to receive a Richland County Proclamation recognizing our Chapter Commander Robert L. Clark and DAV 92nd Buffalo Chapter 20 for our selfless service to the veterans of Richland County.

This proclamation reflects the unwavering dedication of our entire chapter. Through the innovative programs we've created, the strong community partnerships we've built, and our steadfast advocacy for the well-being of local veterans, Chapter 20 is helping create a stronger, more supportive community for those who have served.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Councilman Derek Pugh of District 2 Richland County, who presented the proclamation and the Richland County Council for this meaningful recognition and for its continued support of our veteran community. Together, we will continue making a lasting difference in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much for our nation.

92nd Buffalo Chapter 20, visited and tour the Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) USO Centers, Monday, July 6, 2026.

USO staff members Katie Kennedy and Megan Barton provided an overview of the mission of the USO and provided the members a walking tour of the two USO Centers at CAE.

92nd Buffalo members that were present were Commander Robert Clark, Sr. Vice Commander John Long, Adjuntant Tracy Mitchell, and SGT at Arms Gloria Porter.

Since 1941, the USO has been the nation’s leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. From the moment they join, through their assignments and deployments, and as they transition back to their communities, the USO is always by their side.

USO airport centers throughout the country offer around-the clock hospitality for traveling service members and their families.

The USO is not part of the federal government. A congressionally chartered, private organization, the USO relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities, and is powered by a family of volunteers to accomplish our mission of connection.

🇺🇸 Celebrating Freedom, Service, and Community! ⚾🎆

As we celebrate this Independence Day weekend, we're reflecting on a memorable evening of service and fellowship.

On July 2, members of 92nd Buffalo DAV Chapter 20 were honored to be invited to the Columbia Fireflies' Military Appreciation Night.

Our chapter proudly hosted an informational table where we shared the mission of DAV Chapter 20, distributed promotional materials, answered questions, and welcomed conversations with veterans interested in learning more about the benefits of membership and the support we provide.

We are grateful to the Columbia Fireflies for recognizing our nation's heroes and for giving us the opportunity to serve our community in such a special way.

From all of us at 92nd Buffalo DAV Chapter 20, we wish everyone a safe, happy, and patriotic Fourth of July weekend!

🇺🇸 Keeping the promise to the men and women who served. 🇺🇸
