Okay, this one just makes me smile. 😂🦢

I’m always drawn to pieces that are a little different, and this vintage amber glass swan definitely is.

The long curved neck, that funny little face, and the beautiful amber glass give it so much personality.

I especially love the unusual shape — it’s different from most of the swan dishes I come across.

And really… that amber color is just perfect for fall. 🍂

I am always on the hunt for a beautiful tea pot ....

This Sterling Rose pattern is one of my favorite vintage china patterns.

Made in Japan by Diamond, it has the prettiest delicate pink roses, soft green and gray leaves, and that beautiful silver-tone trim.

This discontinued pattern was being sold by at least the late 1960s — and I think it’s every bit as pretty today.

This sweet set includes the teapot, covered sugar bowl, creamer and platter. Perfect for a tea lover, collector, or simply displayed somewhere pretty.

🩸YOUR CYCLE IS GIVING YOU CLUES

Your menstrual cycle can reveal a tremendous amount about hormone patterns, ovulation, thyroid activity, circulation, inflammation and overall reproductive health. Instead of looking only at when your period arrives, pay attention to the entire pattern. 👇

🌿 SHORT CYCLES UNDER 21 DAYS AND PROGESTERONE

Progesterone rises after ovulation and helps maintain the second half of the menstrual cycle. When progesterone production is lower or the luteal phase is shorter, bleeding can arrive earlier. This becomes especially relevant during perimenopause as ovulation and corpus luteum progesterone production begin changing.

🌿 LONG CYCLES OVER 35 DAYS AND THYROID FUNCTION

Thyroid hormones communicate closely with the reproductive hormone system. Lower thyroid activity can influence the signaling involved in follicle development and ovulation. When ovulation occurs later, the entire cycle becomes longer. This is why thyroid patterns are worth considering when cycles consistently stretch beyond 35 days.

🌿 IRREGULAR CYCLES AND OVULATION

Ovulation determines much of the rhythm of the menstrual cycle. When follicle development and ovulation occur at different times from cycle to cycle, menstrual timing changes with them. Tracking cervical mucus and basal body temperature can provide additional clues about when ovulation is occurring.

🌿 LIGHT BLEEDING AND ESTROGEN

Estrogen helps build the uterine lining during the first half of the cycle. When estrogen stimulation is lower, the endometrium may develop more lightly. A thinner lining means there is less tissue available to shed during menstruation, which can produce a lighter period.

🌿 HEAVY BLEEDING AND ESTROGEN

Estrogen stimulates growth of the uterine lining. When estrogen stimulation is strong in relation to progesterone activity, the lining can become thicker and heavier bleeding can follow when it sheds. Heavy menstrual blood loss can also have a major impact on iron stores over time.

🌿 PAINFUL CRAMPS AND PROSTAGLANDINS

Prostaglandins are chemical messengers involved in uterine contractions. During menstruation they help the uterus contract so the lining can be released. Higher prostaglandin activity can create stronger uterine contractions, which can translate into more intense cramping.

🌿 SPOTTING BEFORE YOUR PERIOD AND PROGESTERONE

After ovulation, progesterone helps maintain and stabilize the uterine lining. When progesterone begins falling earlier in the luteal phase, small amounts of the lining can begin shedding before full menstrual flow starts. This can appear as spotting for one or several days before the period.

🌿 BROWN BLOOD AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR PERIOD

Brown menstrual blood represents blood that has had more time to oxidize before leaving the uterus and va**na. Slower movement of menstrual blood can give hemoglobin more time to change color, creating brown or dark red blood. Looking at the overall flow pattern provides more information than color alone.

🌿 MISSING PERIODS AND REPRODUCTIVE HORMONES

Estrogen helps develop the uterine lining, while progesterone rises following ovulation and organizes the second half of the cycle. When ovulation becomes less consistent, both the hormonal rhythm and menstrual timing can change significantly. This is especially relevant during the reproductive transition years.

🌿 VERY DRY CYCLES AND ESTROGEN

Estrogen stimulates cervical mucus production. As estrogen rises approaching ovulation, cervical mucus becomes wetter, clearer and more abundant. Lower estrogen activity can produce much less cervical fluid, making the cycle feel noticeably drier.

🌿 BREAST TENDERNESS AND HORMONE SHIFTS

Breast tissue responds strongly to estrogen and progesterone. Changes in these hormones throughout the menstrual cycle can influence breast tissue and fluid retention, producing fullness, swelling or tenderness. The timing of breast tenderness within the cycle can provide additional information about the hormonal pattern involved.

🩸 YOUR PERIOD IS MORE THAN A MONTHLY BLEED

Cycle length, flow, cervical mucus, ovulation signs, spotting, cramps and changes in breast tissue can all provide pieces of information about what your hormones are doing throughout the month.

Tracking these signs alongside basal body temperature can make the pattern even clearer because temperature changes can help identify the progesterone rise that follows ovulation.
