Sporting the dreaded annual robes of anxiety… don’t mind the bags under my eyes because scanxiety kept me up all night. I almost had a panic attack at the grocery store the other day after watching an episode of Netflix’s Firefly Lane because the main character’s cancer came back… that’s my fear, not my fate. That’s my fear, not my fate.
What people don’t know is the constant anxiety that has to be pushed aside every single day… with every new ache, pain, symptom - that could just be age, common cold, or hormones - cause an automatic thought of “it’s back.” It takes effort to say, “That’s my fear, not my fate” but if you see me cry just watching my kids play, know that it’s just me trying to soak in every good moment, every drop of happiness because after cancer, life is just so much more precious ❤️
But also, very real, very present, is that unrelenting fear… so I ask for all your prayers, good vibes, and positivity to be sent my way today. Bc maybe I’ll be able to breath a little steadier afterwards…
