Bridge Family Center

Bridge Family Center EVERY FAMILY. EVERY CHILD. EVERY TIME. The Bridge was founded in 1969 to meet the needs of West Hartford community youth who were engaged in high-risk behavior.

Over the next few years, the Bridge expanded its outreach efforts, opened a shelter for runaway and homeless youth, and began to work directly with the schools. Today the Bridge is a comprehensive, regional nonprofit agency offering a broad range of services to children, youth, and families in the Greater Hartford area, with particular attention to serving those at risk. The mission of the Bridge

Family Center is to foster the courage and strength in children and families to meet life's challenges and build fulfilling lives.

Andrew is certified in Digital Health and Wellness and Technology Addiction and specializes in mitigating the adverse effects of digital media consumption in adolescents.

On Tuesday, the 21st Annual Insurance Women of Hartford Golf Tournament brought golfers, sponsors, and friends together at Tumble Brook Country Club in support of the Bridge Family Center.

After a beautiful day on the course, we joined participants for an afternoon of good food, games, raffles, and community.

A special thank you to Megan Croce, Jenn Geib, Stephanie Collier, Irene Sawka, Sue Daigle, Jean Bernier, Sue Baillargeon, and Christina Romagnoli for the time, energy, and care they put into making this event possible each year.

We are also grateful to every golfer, sponsor, donor, and supporter who helped make the day such a success. Your generosity helps the Bridge continue providing vital programs and services for children, youth, adults and families throughout our community.

Thank you, Insurance Women of Hartford, for another wonderful tournament and for your continued support of the Bridge Family Center.

What a meaningful morning at the Bridge Family Center. 💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 38th Annual Breakfast on the Bridge. Each year, we cherish this opportunity to gather with our community, celebrate the partnerships that sustain our work, and recognize those whose dedication makes a difference in the lives of children and families.

This morning was a reminder that meaningful change rarely happens in isolation. It happens when educators, families, community partners, town leaders, and service providers remain connected—working together to recognize needs, respond with compassion, and ensure that young people have access to the support they deserve.

That spirit of collaboration is at the heart of the Build No Fences Award. This year, we were honored to present the award to West Hartford School Resource Officer Lauren Rieger.

Lauren exemplifies what it means to build bridges rather than barriers. Through the trust she cultivates with students, families, schools, and community partners, she helps create an environment where young people feel seen, supported, and safe. Her ability to recognize when someone may need help and connect them with the appropriate resources reflects the power of relationships in strengthening our community.

Congratulations, Lauren, and thank you for the care, collaboration, and commitment you bring to the children and families we serve.

To everyone who joined us this morning, thank you for your partnership and for believing in the power of connection. We are grateful to do this work alongside you.

Every family. Every child. Every time.

Supporting a child with anxiety can be challenging—and parents deserve support, too. 💙

Clinicians at the Bridge Family Center offer SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), an evidence-based, parent-focused approach developed at the Yale Child Study Center.

SPACE helps caregivers better understand anxiety, reduce anxiety-related accommodations, and learn supportive strategies that build confidence, resilience, and coping skills.

Because when parents have the right tools, children can take important steps forward.
