You can leave the unsafe situation and still feel unsafe inside your own body.
That’s one of the hardest parts of trauma recovery.
Your mind may know, “I’m safe now.”
But your nervous system may still be waiting for the next argument, rejection, abandonment, threat, or disaster.
Creating safety within yourself is something you can slowly practise:
🌿 Breathe until your body begins to soften.
🌿 Ground yourself in what is happening right now.
🌿 Remind yourself: “I’m here. I’m safe in this moment.”
🌿 Build routines that give your nervous system predictability.
🌿 Speak to yourself with the reassurance you once needed from others.
Healing isn't only about understanding what happened to you.
It's also about teaching your body that the danger is no longer happening.
At Recovery Trauma™, we’ve created a space filled with trauma education, grounding tools, nervous-system regulation, journals, exercises and guided practices to support you beyond survival mode.
✨ You survived. Now you deserve the chance to feel safe enough to live.
