A 1956 graduate of St. Raphael’s School of Nursing, Joanne's true life passion was nursing. She worked on the cardiac surgical unit at the Hospital of St. Raphael in room 14 as an open heart nurse where many of her colleagues would someday become close friends. Upon retirement, when most people would be home resting, Joanne continued her life’s passion as a substitute school nurse in both the Amity and West Haven School Systems.
When Joanne was not working, she could be found tending to her beautiful garden or traveling the world. She loved to visit her family in Italy. Ever the adventurer, Joanne still found herself bored, and searched for yet another hobby- assisting on a lobster boat; accompanying a family friend hauling lobster traps and even banding lobsters.

Celebrate the life of Joanne Flynn and join others in sharing memories, stories, and condolences.
