Happy National Moon Day! The cycle of the moon reframes human struggles as natural, temporary, and dynamic parts of a continuous cycle. Just like the moon, your emotional well-being goes through phases of darkness, slow building, and full radiance—none of which are permanent.

💛💜🖤 International Non-Binary People's Day 🖤💜💛

Today, we recognize and celebrate people whose gender identities exist outside the traditional male/female binary. Creating spaces where everyone feels seen, respected, and valued is an important part of supporting mental health and well-being.

One simple way to show respect is by using a person's correct pronouns (such as they/them, she/her, he/him, or others they identify with). Using someone's pronouns is a way of acknowledging who they are, helping foster trust, belonging, and psychological safety.

It's also helpful to understand the difference between s*x and gender:
🧡 S*x refers to physical characteristics (such as chromosomes, hormones, and anatomy) assigned at birth.
💚 Gender is a person's internal sense of who they are, as well as how they may express themselves.

A helpful visual for understanding these concepts is the Genderbread Person, which illustrates that gender identity, gender expression, biological s*x, and attraction are separate aspects of a person. While it's a simplified educational tool and doesn't capture every individual's experience, it can be a useful starting point for learning and conversation.

This International Non-Binary People's Day, we encourage everyone to approach others with curiosity, kindness, and respect. Small acts of inclusion—like asking for and using someone's pronouns—can make a meaningful difference.

💛 Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and supported as their authentic self.

Happy International Rock Day: When emotions feel overwhelming, a simple object can become a powerful reminder that you are here, now, and safe.

A grounding touchstone is a small tactile object you can hold during moments of anxiety, stress, trauma, or emotional overwhelm. By focusing on its texture, temperature, shape, and weight, you gently redirect your attention away from distressing thoughts and back to the present moment.

Grounding isn't about making difficult feelings disappear—it's about creating a moment of connection, calm, and stability so you can respond rather than react.

✨ Keep a grounding touchstone in your pocket, purse, or on your desk as a gentle reminder that you always have a tool to help bring you back to the present.

✨ Below is a list of additional grounding techniques to help ground and bring you to the present moment.

For those of you that know, this is my daughter, Madi.

For those of that don’t know, this is my daughter, Madi.

For those of you that know, you know.

For those of you that don’t know, she is an addict.

I have been on this journey with her since she was 14 years old. She will celebrate her 20th birthday in 37 days. Which is ironic because I was 20 when I had her. We are 6 years and 3 rehabs in. Read on.

Did you know that addiction is classified in the DSM-5? It’s a mental illness that lives in the brain stem: the same brain stem that serves a critical role in regulating certain involuntary actions of the body, including heartbeat and breathing. Pause on that. Addicts feel that they need their drug of choice (DOC) the same way they feel they need to breathe. Pause on that.

Did you know that our society treats addiction as a moral issue and pawns it off on law enforcement to “control”? The average stay in jail is 14 days or less. Where addicts are left to detox alone…outside of medical supervision.
Did you know the detox process can be violent and result in death if not monitored by medical professionals?
The addict is then released at the time their serotonin levels are at their lowest, leading to a high rate of relapse. It’s a pun to say this is criminal. It takes an average of 14-16 months of sobriety for an addict’s brain to balance serotonin levels to that of a neuro-typical brain. Did you know that? Did you know that most insurances will only pay for

What you wear can be more than just clothing—it can be a reflection of who you are. 💙✨

This National Fashion Day, celebrate the many ways we express our identity, personality, and individuality. Whether your style is bright and bold, simple and classic, or constantly evolving, your choices can be a meaningful way to share who you are with the world.

Self-expression is an important part of overall well-being. Feeling comfortable and confident in your own skin—and in your own style—can help strengthen self-esteem and remind us that our uniqueness is something to celebrate.

Today, wear what makes you feel like you. Because the world is brighter when everyone feels free to express themselves authentically.

Who says play has an age limit? 🌈🎈

Today is Be a Kid Again Day, and it's the perfect reminder that having fun isn't just for kids—it's important for adults, too. Taking time to laugh, play, and enjoy life's simple moments can help reduce stress, spark creativity, and reconnect you with what brings you joy.

So go ahead—ride the swings, play a game, splash in a puddle, or dance like nobody's watching. Let loose, have fun, and give your inner child the attention it deserves.

Because growing up doesn't mean growing out of play. 💙
