A true loss to the nursing community. She will be missed.

The Dominican University community is mourning the sudden passing of Dr. Nancy DiDona, Professor and Director of the Division of Nursing. Nancy was a cherished member of our Dominican family for nearly 31 years and served as Director of the Division of Nursing for the past 16 years. She was one of the few full professors at the University and was a published scholar and author of numerous works, including a text on review strategies for nursing examinations. She will have a lasting influence on the nursing profession and on generations of students. There will be an empty chair on the stage at Sunday's Commencement Ceremony with Nancy's photo to honor her memory. May Nancy rest in peace and be reunited with her loved ones, including her beloved grandson, Jackson. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, from 4-8 p.m. at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catharine of Alexandria Parish, 523 Western Hwy S., Blauvelt, NY 10913. Interment will be private. Staff cannot get in safely. Side roads are not clear. We will remain closed today, Monday. Please stay off the roads and stay safe.
