West Jefferson's Lunch and Learn is fast approaching, offering free summer lunches and interactive STEAM lessons and presentations. The program will feature COSI's EiPiC program every Tuesday, complemented by ABC The Building Blocks of Computer Science, Cut Out for Computer Science, and Math Camp-In Camp Summit curriculums. The first session will feature multiple STEAM stations. Other highlights include a captivating puppet show, a special Father's Day card activity, and 4 STEAM career demonstrations. We encourage you to join us from June 1st to August 6th, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 11:30am-1:00pm. Please arrive promptly at 11:30am to ensure maximum participation time. This program is designed for individuals under 18, with no registration required. Caregivers may choose to stay or drop off their child, assuming the child is self-sufficient. While most sessions take place at The West Jefferson Community Center (230 Cemetery Rd), 3 field trip dates and location changes are noted below. I only have boys, but I’m very open about all aspects of puberty of males and females. It’s just a body doing what bodies do. Lean into the “discomfort” you may feel and normalize bodily changes in males and females.

It’s such an honor caring for kiddos until they outgrow us at 21. This young lady and her momma have been such a blessing to us. I’m excited to hear how she thrives as an adult!

I’ve been practicing medicine for 17 years now. I don’t take lightly the special role I play in kiddos lives as they grow. In four more years kiddos I saw at birth will be outgrowing my practice. Wow! Where has the time gone?!?

There is a confirmed case of measles at a local school I serve in Franklin County.

If your child has cough, runny nose, red eyes and a fever (>100.4), DO NOT GO TO THE ER OR UC!! This is highly contagious and can spread airborne to vulnerable unvaccinated groups of patients!!

Please message our office for a telehealth visit so I can assess if a measles test is appropriate. Generally, there needs to be a known exposure to measles with cough, runny nose, red eyes, spots in the mouth and fever. The rash generally starts after the fever subsides from the face and moves down the body.

If you child has been exposed and does not have symptoms and you desire a vaccine, a vaccine can be protective. Please message through the portal or Klara if you have further questions specific to your child.
