We have a new addition to our Redwood Family. Meet Joshua!

Joshua Walpole is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, National Certified
Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who is drawn to the deeper “why” of human behavior—what drives us, what keeps us stuck, and what makes lasting
changes possible. In his work with clients, he creates a space of honesty, compassion, and purpose where people can explore those questions without judgment.

Joshua believes healing begins with awareness and intention: learning to pause, notice what is happening beneath the surface, and respond with choice rather than react on autopilot. He holds a steady conviction that no one is too far gone. Change is possible, and every person already carries the capacity for clarity, strength, and hope.

He specializes in trauma-informed work, with particular focus on unwanted compulsive sexual behaviors and the profound impact of betrayal trauma on partners and
relationships. Joshua also supports individuals, couples, and families navigating shame, disconnection, anxiety, depression, family-of-origin trauma, ADD, OCD, PTSD,
mood disorders, and other complex emotional experiences. Using Lifespan Integration, experiential therapy, psychodrama, and existential work, he helps clients understand their stories, create safety, strengthen boundaries, manage trauma responses, and move toward post-traumatic growth and a more centered sense of self.

Outside of therapy, he enjoys time with his wife and four children—going on adventures, creating memories and telling stories around a glowing fire.

If you’re ready to explore what keeps you stuck and begin building a more intentional, meaningful life, Joshua would be honored to walk alongside you.

For the month of August, National Wellness Month, we challenge you to take life one day at a time.

Taking care of yourself doesn’t have to mean changing everything at once. Sometimes it looks like drinking a glass of water, taking a light walk, putting your phone down, getting some rest, and simply slowing down. 🌱

You don’t have to figure out the whole month, or your entire future today. Focus on what you need right now and take the next small step. Take it one day at a time, and listen to what you need day by day. Small acts of self-care today can support a healthier mind tomorrow. 🪴

Did you know different sound frequencies have a powerful influence on your nervous system?
Your brain favors certain noises. 🧠⬇️

Ever feel so overwhelmed that even silence feels loud?

When your nervous system is stuck in a fight-or-flight state, the right sound frequencies can act as an immediate, physical reset button. Here is how to use sound colors to ground yourself today:

🌸 PINK NOISE: Sounds like steady, balanced rainfall. Excellent for lowering your heart rate, releasing muscle tension, and transitioning into deep sleep.

🟤 BROWN NOISE: Sounds like a deep, low rumble or distant thunder. Perfect for a racing mind, looping thoughts, and deep anxiety. It comforts the brain, acting like a soothing blanket.

☁️ WHITE NOISE: Sounds like TV static or a loud fan. Best used purely as an acoustic shield to block out sudden, startling background noises.

🍃 GREEN NOISE: Sounds like wind through the trees or a flowing stream. Ideal for when you feel trapped indoors and need a natural, grounding atmosphere to focus.

Which one does your nervous system need today? Tell us below! 👇

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental health affects every single one of us, whether personally or through someone we love. Millions of people struggle with anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, grief, and other mental health challenges, often silently. Because of that, kindness, connection, and support matter more than we realize.

For the rest of May, we challenge you to pick something from this list and take action. Make a difference for yourself, your family and friends, at work or school, or even on social media. No act is too small. A text, a conversation, a compliment, checking in, or simply helping someone feel seen can make a bigger impact than you know. Even the smallest act of kindness can change the course of someone’s day, and sometimes, their life. 🌱

It’s meet a therapist Thursday, say hello to Trudy! 🌱

Trudy believes in a holistic approach to wellness and believes that there is always hope for better days ahead. She values finding ways to achieve greater balance in emotional, physical, spiritual, social, occupational, and intellectual areas throughout our lives. She has training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and appreciates walking with people through their grief journeys.

Trudy graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Sociology and a certificate in Criminology, with an emphasis in social work. She later graduated from Liberty University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. While at Liberty, her interests led her to study post-traumatic stress among first responders and veterans and to navigate career changes.

Trudy has previously worked in the juvenile justice system and has had a long career in law enforcement. Working with those struggling with mental health issues led her to a second career in mental health counseling. Her passion now is to help people of all ages navigate through their mental health struggles and find fulfillment in their lives.

Trudy enjoys spending time with family and friends and values making memories. She enjoys traveling the world and seeking unforgettable experiences. She also enjoys caring for plants and flowers, and making charcuterie boards. 🌷

Before you compare your progress to someone else’s, read this:

You’re not behind… you might just be in a different season.

Spring in therapy isn’t about instantly blooming.
It’s about what’s happening beneath the surface.

While it’s easy to look around and feel like everyone else is “further along,” real growth doesn’t work that way.

Some people are in a season of renewal. They are starting to feel again after an emotional winter.

Some are decluttering and letting go of patterns, relationships, or thoughts that no longer serve them.

Some are just planting seeds… building tiny habits, showing up, trying.

And some are simply reconnecting. Perhaps rediscovering themselves, relationships, or their sense of hope.

Not all growth is visible.

Just like in spring, roots are forming before anything blooms. 🌸

So before you compare your progress…
remember: slow, steady growth is still growth. 🌱

Join us for a FREE workshop for parents of teens where we’ll dive into:
🧠 Understanding the teen brain
🤝 Strengthening your parent-teen relationship
🛠 Practical tools you can use right away

Research consistently shows that parents who build strong relationships and maintain open communication with their teenagers see greater long-term success and happiness in their kids.

Teens who feel connected to their parents tend to have better mental health, increased social stability in adulthood, reduced risk-taking behavior, and improved educational attainment, such as increased college enrollment.

The teenage years can feel complicated, but your relationship is still the most powerful influence in their life.

This is a workshop you won’t want to miss. Register today by scanning the QR code to reserve your seat. We’d love to see you there!
