On Tuesday, June 9th, the University Place Ladies Crafting Club took a trip to “All Fired Up” to paint pottery. The ladies were able to choose their own pottery pieces and glaze colors. The pottery pieces were left to be fired in the kilns and scheduled for pick up the next week. The ladies had a great time painting pottery and group fellowship. Plans are being made for another pottery painting class but will be hosted at University Place in late Fall.

Golf lover, Harry Hardy turned 106 this week. Our Life Enrichment team gave him a wonderful surprise with an afternoon touring the Purdue Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. Happy Birthday Harry!

June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, a reminder that brain health deserves our attention long before there is a crisis.

While Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging, early signs can be easy to miss or explain away. Changes in memory, confusion with familiar tasks, difficulty finding words or withdrawal from social activities may all be worth a closer look.

Awareness matters because earlier conversations can lead to earlier support, stronger care planning and a better understanding of what a loved one may need.

This month, we encourage families to keep learning, keep asking questions and keep paying attention to the changes that should not be ignored.
