Our resident, Joann was helping housekeeping by dusting the front lobby yesterday. Joann was working up until moving in. Continuing to have "a job" like dusting still gives Joann a sense of purpose. She feels like she's part of her community and giving back. Great job Joann, the lobby looks great!

This week we had our semi-annual staff appreciation party with Christmas in July to say thank you for all the hard work our staff do for Tanner Spring and our residents.

We even announced our Employee of the Months (yes, we couldn't just pick one!). We had so many recommendations for employee of the month from residents, families and employees that it was hard to narrow it down. This month we're announcing the following employees for Employee of the Month...

Xochitl - Caregiver in Assisted Living
Margarita - Caregiver in Memory Care
Victor - Health Service Director
Sierra - Chef
Bob - Resident and Asset Protection (Door Greeter)

We also have gave the award for best dressed to our caregiver in assisting living, Ashley. Ashley is always in her work uniform, hair pulled back, comfortable shoes, name tag and a smile when she comes into work. Then she goes above and beyond during spirit week!

Yesterday our Memory Care brought over the parachute to share with our residents in assisted living to show them how much fun it is. I don't think the laughter stopped!

Participating in group games like parachute are beneficial for everyone with all abilities. Group games like parachute, balloon toss, golfing, ping-pong, or Co****le helps with many things like: building muscles, stronger bones, improves our cardiovascular system, improves joint flexibility, helps with balance, relieves stress, improves mood, boost cognition, and even helps with isolation.

With the sunny weather we've been having here in Oregon, it's been great for morning walks and late evening strolls with loved ones and friends at Tanner Spring Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Tanner Spring has walking paths that take you through our courtyard that shows off the talent of our residents gardening club and we have a path that takes you behind our community shaded with trees, birds chirping and an occasional squirrel or bunny is spotted in the grass. Come take a walk around or join our walking club in memory care.
