💙 As Recovery Month comes to a close, the message still matters: support is available. Whether someone is starting treatment, continuing care, or returning after a gap, reaching out can be a meaningful next step.

Every step forward deserves to be recognized. 💙

At New Day Recovery West Monroe, Fridays are an opportunity to celebrate the growth and progress of our clients. Each week, we recognize individuals who stand out through cleanliness, support for others, initiative, and overall progress with our Client of the Week recognition.

Celebrating these moments reminds us that progress comes in many forms—and every positive step matters. 👏

When someone you care about is struggling, it is easy to feel like you need to know exactly what to say or what treatment they need.

You do not.

You can help by starting a supportive conversation, helping them explore treatment resources, or simply sitting beside them while they make the first call.

CDC recommends connecting people with treatment resources that fit their needs and provides treatment-finding resources through SAMHSA and other federal programs.

Recovery may begin with the person seeking help—but sometimes someone they trust helps them find a path forward.

This Recovery Month, help someone take the next step.

You do not need the perfect speech to help someone who is struggling.

Sometimes support begins with something much simpler: listening, avoiding judgment, and helping someone find the next step when they are ready.

Stigma can make people less willing to seek treatment, which is why NIDA and CDC emphasize supportive, non-stigmatizing communication around substance use disorders.

If someone you care about is struggling:
• Listen.
• Ask what support would be helpful.
• Offer to help them connect with treatment.

You do not have to solve everything. You can help someone find a path forward.
