📢 GVI Training

We’re excited to offer GVI training for community members, educators, service providers, mentors, and anyone passionate about violence prevention and community engagement. We’ve been offering this training in person, and this will be the first time community members can join virtually, so those who can’t attend in person can still receive the same training and not miss out.

Join us for an engaging session that will give you an overview of GVI, highlight the work we do in the community, and share practical tools, strategies, and resources to help build safer neighborhoods.

We can’t wait to have you join us!

July 8th | 11:30am and 5:30pm

If you would like to join in person (which is always preferred), you will also need to sign up.

📍 To register for this training, click the link below. Once registered, you will receive the meeting details.

Group Violence Intervention (GVI) is now accepting participants for our 12-week Pen & Pad Program, a therapeutic journaling and healing program designed to help individuals process trauma, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills.

We are currently seeking:
✅ Young men/youth affected by gun violence
✅ Mothers affected by gun violence (our first mothers’ group is now forming)

This program is only open to individuals who have been directly impacted by gun violence or have an immediate family member who has been affected by gun violence.

To help accommodate different schedules, we will be offering both morning and afternoon sessions for the young men’s group and the mothers’ group.

⚠️ Space is limited, so please reach out as soon as possible if you are interested.

To enroll or learn more:

How much do you know about Group Violence Intervention (GVI)?

We want to hear from our community! What would you like to see GVI doing in our neighborhoods? What programs, resources, partnerships, or community events would make the biggest impact where you live?

GVI is most successful when the entire community is involved. Whether it’s volunteering your time, mentoring, attending community events, sharing resources, or simply being a positive influence, everyone has a role to play in creating safer and stronger neighborhoods.

We also invite you to learn more about GVI by attending our upcoming community training on July 8th. We will be offering two sessions to accommodate different schedules:
📍 11:30 AM
📍 5:30 PM

Your voice matters, your involvement matters, and together we can continue building a safer community for everyone.

How You feelin?
The Feelings Wheel is a simple tool to help us slow down, check in, and name what we’re really feeling. When we can name it, we can better understand it, express it, and begin to heal through it.

Take a moment today and ask yourself:
How am I really feeling?
