RWJBarnabas Health was honored to support the incredible athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers who made this year’s Games so special.

From volunteering throughout the weekend and providing health screenings through the Healthy Athletes program, to spending time with athletes at Olympic Village alongside Rutgers Football student-athletes and our friends from the Somerset Patriots, Jersey Shore BlueClaws, Trenton Thunder Baseball, and the Seton Hall Pirates, we were proud to celebrate the power of inclusion and community.

The determination, resilience, and joy displayed by every athlete reminded us why this partnership means so much. Thank you, Special Olympics New Jersey, for allowing us to be part of such an inspiring weekend.

Congratulations to all of the athletes!

Honoring our "Values Champions." President & CEO Mark E. Manigan and Chief People Officer Lynda Markoe recognized an incredible group of team members who bring our core values to life every day at our Breakfast of Champions.

Whether through teamwork, compassion, or a commitment to excellence, these champions constantly go above and beyond their roles to support one another and the communities we serve.

It was a morning full of connection, appreciation, and inspiring firsthand reflections from the people who make RWJBarnabas Health what it is.

Thank you to all of our champions!

RWJBarnabas Health is making major strategic investments to improve maternal health outcomes and close care gaps for new and expectant mothers in New Jersey’s underserved communities. Supported by state appropriations and our health system’s “Our Healthy Communities” initiative, the funding aims to combat rising maternal mortality rates, reduce preventable labor complications and address the social determinants of health that impact families during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Together with Union County, we're rolling out a new mobile pediatric unit that will provide local children with essential health services! Supported by community health resources from the State of New Jersey, our new strategic partnership through the Union County Office of Health Management builds upon RWJBarnabas Health’s ongoing work to expand healthcare access and address barriers to care.

This , RWJBarnabas Health is proud to join the Ad Council in support of its campaign encouraging people to keep their loved ones safe from firearm injuries. Gun violence continues to be a devastating health crisis. Hear from some of our trauma team members about its impact.

Thanks to Dr. Zachary Englert, Associate Trauma Medical Director at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and the hospital’s Violence Intervention Specialist Elvia Fernandez-Rodriguez and Injury Prevention Coordinator Naomi Bannis for lending their insights to help all of us learn more and understand how we can make a difference.

Welcome to the 2026 RWJBarnabas Health Student Nurse Externs!

This summer, we proudly welcome 100+ nursing students from across the region for an immersive clinical experience designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional nursing practice. Over the next 10 weeks, each extern will be paired one-on-one with an experienced RN preceptor, providing individualized mentorship, guidance, and hands-on learning opportunities in a variety of specialty areas.

Through direct patient care experiences, interdisciplinary collaboration, and exposure to the culture of nursing excellence that defines RWJBarnabas Health, these future nurses will build the skills, confidence, and professional relationships that will help shape their careers. We’re excited to support their journey and invest in the next generation of nursing professionals!
