This recipe is not keto. It will not get you into ketosis on its own. But if you have been in ketosis for months or years like many of us doing the work have, this is where metabolic flexibility comes in.
🥩Once your body is fat adapted and has been running clean for a while, you gain the ability to introduce something like this, real food, low carb, nutrient dense, without getting knocked out of therapeutic ketosis for long. For some of us it barely registers. For others it might bump you out for an hour or two before your body finds its way back on its own.
🦠This is also what healing looks like on the other side of mold, biotoxin illness, or autoimmune flares. When your terrain is still inflamed, foods like avocado, cilantro, and even cucumber can be histamine triggers or carry more inflammatory load than your system can handle. You avoid them not because they are bad foods, but because your body cannot process them yet.
🧬But once you have done the work, cleared the terrain, calmed the immune response, rebuilt the gut, you earn the ability to bring some of these foods back in. That is not a setback. That is proof the healing worked. A little more variety, a few more carbs, a plate that finally includes color again, is not a compromise. It is a milestone.
