As of today, July 1, 2026, Florida has added a new alert to the toolkit we rely on during critical moments: the .

Those of us who have worked missing‑child cases involving children with autism know how quickly these situations can unfold and how different they often look from a typical missing persons call. Many of these kids are drawn to water, traffic, or isolated areas. Some are nonverbal or highly sensitive to lights and sound. When minutes matter, getting the right information to the community fast can make all the difference.

The Spectrum Alert was designed with those realities in mind. It allows law enforcement to quickly notify the public when a child with autism spectrum disorder goes missing, and it can be elevated if we believe the child is in immediate danger.

Alerts may come through TV, radio, highway signs, cellphone notifications, social media, and other public systems.

Some meetings hold a special meaning, and our latest Team Sacred staff meeting was one of them. 💙

As we wrapped up another incredible school year, we took time to celebrate, connect, and reflect on the journey we’ve shared together. Over a special breakfast and thoughtful gifts, we were reminded that our greatest strength isn’t found in any one person, it’s found in each other.

“Strong teams don’t just weather change, they grow through it. They stand together, support one another, and become stronger with every challenge they face.”

This year brought growth, change, and new opportunities, and through it all, our team continued to show resilience, dedication, and heart. We are grateful for every member of Team Sacred and the difference they make in the lives of our students and families each day.

As parents of a child with special needs, we struggled to find a place where our family truly belonged.

We just wanted to create a sacred place for our daughter, Kitty… a place where she would feel seen, understood, and safe.

So we built it, not just for her, but for every family still searching.
