Congratulations to John Young, our latest C.A.R.E. Award winner for Business Support! A Trauma Hawk EMS Helicopter Pilot Instructor, John was nominated by a colleague for his exceptional skill, leadership and commitment to safety during a recent high-risk landing.

Responding to a critical call, John safely landed the aircraft on a section of the Turnpike that was under construction, navigating uneven pavement, construction materials and avoiding high-tension power lines. The challenging environment required precise judgment, technical expertise and calm decision-making under pressure.

Throughout the response, John maintained clear communication and strong situational awareness, helping keep the crew focused and coordinated. His steady leadership allowed Trauma Hawk to land safely and deliver critical care without delay.

Together, our teams are collaborating to achieve a critical goal: expanding access, enhancing services and creating new opportunities to meet the healthcare needs of the communities we serve.

These photos offer a glimpse of that work in action as our team rolls up its sleeves alongside our Tampa General Hospital partners to plan, problem-solve and help bring what’s next to life.

Congratulations to Marco Fernandez Sanchez, APRN, our latest C.A.R.E. Award winner for Clinical Support! A nurse practitioner at our Mangonia Park Community Health Center, Marco was recognized by a patient for the compassion, respect and support he provides during some of life’s most difficult moments.

The patient shared that Marco has consistently gone above and beyond to make sure their healthcare needs are met. During a recent visit related to recovery and relapse, Marco did more than provide treatment. He took the time to sit down, listen and talk through what the patient was experiencing with empathy, understanding and respect. Marco helped them feel cared for, supported and treated with dignity when they needed it most.

A partnership making an impact!

This week, Palm Beach State College (PBSC) presented Lakeside Medical Center with the Panther Partner Award, recognizing our partnership with the college and its commitment to supporting the essential healthcare workforce pipeline in Florida.

Through clinical rotations at Lakeside, PBSC nursing students and technicians gain valuable hands-on hospital experience while learning alongside our team and caring for patients in the Glades. It’s a partnership that advances health education across Palm Beach County, creates a talent pipeline and makes a meaningful impact in our rural Glades communities.

The partnership is also source of Panther pride for several of our Lakeside team members who are PBSC alumni and joined in for a photo. 📸

Thank you, Palm Beach State College, for this recognition and for your continued partnership!

A physician at our West Palm Beach Community Health Center and Medical Director for our Skilled Nursing Center, Dr. Noukelak was recognized by her colleagues for leading with compassion, encouragement and a genuine commitment to those around her.

From sharing uplifting quotes during weekday huddles to supporting team members through challenges, she creates an environment where employees feel valued and supported. That same compassion also extends to her residents. When a Skilled Nursing Center resident was hospitalized with complications that delayed his return, Dr. Noukelak personally visited him to check on his condition and offer support.

Through both everyday encouragement and meaningful acts of care, Dr. Noukelak shows what it means to lead with heart.
