A partnership making an impact!

This week, Palm Beach State College (PBSC) presented Lakeside Medical Center with the Panther Partner Award, recognizing our partnership with the college and its commitment to supporting the essential healthcare workforce pipeline in Florida.

Through clinical rotations at Lakeside, PBSC nursing students and technicians gain valuable hands-on hospital experience while learning alongside our team and caring for patients in the Glades. It’s a partnership that advances health education across Palm Beach County, creates a talent pipeline and makes a meaningful impact in our rural Glades communities.

The partnership is also source of Panther pride for several of our Lakeside team members who are PBSC alumni and joined in for a photo. 📸

Thank you, Palm Beach State College, for this recognition and for your continued partnership!

Congratulations to Dr. Germaine Noukelak, our latest C.A.R.E. Award winner for Leadership! A physician at our West Palm Beach Community Health Center and Medical Director for our Skilled Nursing Center, Dr. Noukelak was recognized by her colleagues for leading with compassion, encouragement and a genuine commitment to those around her.

From sharing uplifting quotes during weekday huddles to supporting team members through challenges, she creates an environment where employees feel valued and supported. That same compassion also extends to her residents. When a Skilled Nursing Center resident was hospitalized with complications that delayed his return, Dr. Noukelak personally visited him to check on his condition and offer support.

Through both everyday encouragement and meaningful acts of care, Dr. Noukelak shows what it means to lead with heart.

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, a reminder to pay attention to changes in your body.

Ovarian cancer symptoms can sometimes be subtle, but if they are new, persistent or unusual for you, it’s important to get checked out.
Knowing the signs and seeking care when something doesn’t feel right can make an important difference.

🎒 Back-to-school prep took teamwork!

Before students returned to classrooms, our teams worked together to ensure 172 Palm Beach County public schools had new vital-sign equipment, including automatic blood pressure monitors, thermometers and pulse oximeters.

👏 From receiving and assembling 18 pallets of supplies in the Trauma Hawk hangar to delivering equipment to each school, this team effort ensures our School Health team has the tools they need to start the year ready to care for more than 150,000 students across the county.

💜Recovery starts with care for the whole person.

As we recognize International Overdose Awareness Day, we’re introducing Jessica Brar, M.D., our new Internal and Addiction Medicine physician at the Mangonia Park Community Health Center.

Dr. Brar provides comprehensive care for people affected by substance use disorders, including treatment for co-occurring medical and mental health needs and health complications related to substance use. Her approach looks beyond any one diagnosis, caring for both body and mind and helping patients build a healthier, more sustainable path toward recovery.

If you or someone you know is struggling with substance use or mental health concerns, help is available. Call 561-642-1000 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Brar or one of our mental health professionals.

Stronger together.

Today, our Lakeside Medical Center team members joined Health Care District and Tampa General Hospital leadership for an employee town hall focused on the progress we’ve made and what’s ahead.

Leaders reflected on the first year of our partnership and reaffirmed our shared commitment to Lakeside, its team members and the patients and communities of the Glades.

Together, we’re building on Lakeside’s momentum, strengthening access to high-quality care in western Palm Beach County and creating an even stronger future for this vital rural hospital.

And we’re just getting started.
