Small steps are still progress. Whether it's getting out of bed, reaching out for support, or taking a moment to breathe - it all matters. ๐Ÿ’™

What's one small step you're proud of today?

04/10/2026

Progress doesnโ€™t wait for you to feel good.

Some days will be sharp, others will feel slow and off.

Thatโ€™s part of it.

Most people only show up when they feel good, and thatโ€™s why they stay stuck.

Real growth happens on the days you donโ€™t feel like it.

When effort is messy, when focus is low, when nothing clicks.

Thatโ€™s where it counts.

Because showing up imperfectly beats disappearing completely.

Stack enough of those days, and everything starts to change.๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”ฅ

Emotional avoidance often leads to greater distress over time. But when we learn to ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌโ€”even the painful onesโ€”we build ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž, ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ๐Ÿ-๐š๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ.

Hereโ€™s a step-by-step approach that helps:

1. Allow yourself to cry (or feel, however it shows up)
Tears are a natural release. Suppressing emotion doesnโ€™t erase itโ€”it stores it.

After losing a client or project, instead of pretending youโ€™re โ€œfine,โ€ you let yourself cry. This physical release helps regulate your nervous system and creates emotional space for clarity.

2. Remind yourself: this feeling is temporary
Emotions rise and fall like waves. No feeling is permanent, even if it feels that way in the moment.

After receiving unexpected critical feedback, you feel a wave of embarrassment and self-doubt. Instead of spiraling, you pause and remind yourself: โ€œThis discomfort is temporary. I wonโ€™t feel this way forever.โ€ Naming its impermanence helps you regain perspective and emotional balance.

3. Validate and acknowledge what you feel
Instead of โ€œI shouldnโ€™t feel this way,โ€ try โ€œIt makes sense I feel this way right now.โ€ Your emotions are data, not drama.

After being left out of a meeting, you feel hurt and maybe even insecure. Rather than brushing it off, you think: โ€œOf course I feel upsetโ€”connection and inclusion matter to me.โ€ Validation builds self-compassion.

4. Let the emotion exist without judgment
Drop the โ€œgood vs. badโ€ labels. Guilt, sadness, even jealousyโ€”they're all valid human experiences.

You feel jealous of a colleagueโ€™s promotion. Instead of criticizing yourselfโ€”โ€œI shouldnโ€™t feel this wayโ€โ€”you simply notice the jealousy, without labeling it as wrong. All emotions are part of being human.

5. Focus on processing, not avoiding
Avoidance can feel like relief in the short-term, but healing comes from facing whatโ€™s underneath.

After a breakup, you resist the urge to distract yourself with constant work. Instead, you journal, talk to a friend, or sit with the sadness. Processing allows real healingโ€”avoidance just delays it.

6. Stay present and mindful
Notice your breath. Scan your body. Bring yourself back to now. Emotions are easier to handle when we meet them moment-to-moment.

During an argument, you feel triggered and overwhelmed. You take a deep breath, notice the tightness in your chest, and return your attention to the present. Staying mindful helps you respond, not react.

Discomfort isnโ€™t the enemy. Itโ€™s often the messenger. The goal isnโ€™t to โ€œfixโ€ your emotions, but to ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ž๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฆ ๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ง๐ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐š๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ.

How do you process tough emotions when they arise?

04/08/2026

Feeling a feeling fully is how it passes.

When you fight it, it lingers.
When you numb it, it waits for you.

But when you allow it - really let yourself feel sad, angry, or scared, your body gets the message that it's safe to move through it.

That's how emotions complete their cycle.

๐Ÿ‘‰Feel it without judging it.

Sit with it, donโ€™t run from it.

What you allowโ€ฆ heals.
What you resistโ€ฆ stays.

Sure, running away from your emotions and avoiding them works in the short term. You can distract yourself, push those feelings away, or keep yourself busy to avoid facing them.

But over time, these emotions that you havenโ€™t acknowledged or processed yet start to resurface - and this time, they feel even more intense.

Avoiding emotions is something many of us get so used to doing, it can be hard to start actually addressing them instead. Therapy helps people learn safe ways to approach emotions gradually, so they donโ€™t feel overwhelmed or stuck in a cycle of avoidance.
