THRIVE is seeking qualified individuals to work as DIRECT CARE PROFESSIONALS. Shifts are 12 hours. Will train for required: CPR, Level 1 Medication Aide, and First Aid.
Must have a High School Diploma or GED, be able to pass a Criminal Background Check, and have a valid Driver’s License.

DIRECT CARE PROFESSIONAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide Direct Care through support, guidance, instruction, training, and observation to individuals in the areas of personal self-care, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, social/leisure activities, academics, and community participation as outlined in the Individualized Support Plan.
Collect data and keep records of daily activities, events, and services in addition to observance of the individual’s behaviors, medical issues, and any other necessary criteria included in the Individual’s Support Plan.

There’s a kind of freedom that many of us forget exists. Not because it disappears, but because life has a way of teaching us to stop looking for it. We settle into routines, responsibilities, and expectations. We learn what tomorrow will probably look like, and somewhere along the way, we stop noticing the wonder hidden in ordinary moments.

But what if the world still felt open?

What if a walk through the community wasn't just another outing, but an adventure waiting to happen? What if meeting someone new wasn't routine, but an opportunity to discover a new friendship? What if curiosity still led the way?
At Thrive, we have the incredible privilege of witnessing that perspective every single day.

We see individuals who remind us that life is still unfolding, that there are always new experiences to embrace, new skills to learn, and new moments worth celebrating. We watch confidence grow through simple victories, courage emerge from small steps, and genuine joy appear in moments many people might overlook.
It isn't about living without structure. In fact, structure often creates the foundation that allows confidence to grow. It's about finding possibility within that structure. It's about realizing that every day still holds opportunities to explore, connect, and become a little more than we were yesterday.

I was going to make a post about the shoe event and how our bosses bought every single employee and every individual we have the privilege of serving a brand new pair of shoes.

But the more I thought about it, the more I realized... the shoes aren't really the story.

The shoes are just one small example of the kind of leaders they are.

They show up. They care. They listen. They celebrate with us, encourage us through the hard days, and genuinely invest in the people around them. They don't just talk about putting people first, they live it every single day.

The relationship here goes far beyond "boss" and "employee." There's absolutely respect, but there's also trust, appreciation, and a family, like bond that you don't find in many workplaces. It's why you'll hear so many people speak so highly of our leadership.

The shoes were an incredible gift, especially knowing that for many families, buying something for themselves often comes after taking care of everyone else. It was thoughtful, generous, and deeply appreciated. But what I'll remember most isn't the shoes themselves. It's the heart behind them.

I and so many others are incredibly thankful to be part of an organization led by people who genuinely care, not just about the work we do, but about the people doing it. That kind of leadership is rare, and it never goes unnoticed.
Thank you for reminding all of us that feeling valued doesn't come from grand gestures. It comes from leaders who consistently choose to care.

Being a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is so much more than a job.

It's showing up every single day knowing you probably won't know what the day holds. Some days are filled with laughter and milestones. Other days are emotional, challenging, and require more patience and compassion than you ever thought possible.

Our DSPs don't just clock in and clock out. They build trust. They celebrate victories that most people never get to see. They walk beside individuals through some of life's hardest moments and remind them that they're never alone.

To every DSP on our team, thank you. Thank you for your heart, your resilience, and your unwavering commitment to making a difference. The work you do changes lives, and we are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

We can't share where every story begins out of respect for the privacy of the incredible individuals we serve. Those details belong to them.

What we can share is the hope, the progress, the goals being reached, and the incredible transformations happening along the way. Watching someone regain confidence, find purpose, and build a brighter future is something we'll never take for granted.

What an amazing and busy summer we’ve had here at Thrive!

We’ve enjoyed swimming, attending community events, making special memories, and even celebrating one wonderful individual’s very first summer camp experience!

We are so proud of every new experience, brave step, and joyful moment along the way.
