Sgt. 1st Class(P) Jamaal Cromer was promoted to the rank of ‘Master Sergeant’ in the U.S. Army during a Friday morning ceremony at Trophy Point, West Point, N.Y.

Cromer is the Non-Commissioned Officer-in-Charge at the Mologne Cadet Health Clinic at the U.S. Military Academy.

Lt. Col. Samuel Teague, Chief of Keller’s Primary Care Dept., was the master of ceremonies and provided opening remarks; Cromer’s mother, Teresa, applied his new rank insignia and cover; and the Cadet Health leadership – Maj. Paige Moreland and Maj. James Schofield – presented Cromer with a gift on behalf of the Cadet Health team.

Keller Army Community Hospital’s routine services and administrative offices will be closed on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. in observance of Organizational Day.

All outpatient clinics, ancillary services (laboratory and radiology), outpatient pharmacies, dental, and administrative offices will be closed.

The Emergency Room will remain open 24 hours a day for emergency medical care. Inpatient services and essential continuous operations will also proceed normally.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please proceed directly to the Emergency Room or call 9-1-1.

For non-emergent medical advice during the closure, please contact the Nurse Advice Line, or utilize Q-Anywhere or the patient portal to message your primary care team or schedule future appointments.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your patience as we internally recognize our hospital staff.

Keller operations and standard clinic hours will resume on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Staff Sgt. Daniel Ortiz was recognized for his service, while assigned to Keller Army Community Hospital and his impact on U.S. Military Academy Cadets and Keller beneficiaries, during a Thursday afternoon ceremony at Keller.

Ortiz is the Non-Commissioned Officer-in-Charge of Keller’s Physical Therapy Department.

He received an Army Commendation Medal, a gift from the Physical Therapy Dept. team and one from the Dept. of Surgery team, and a Command coin from Headquarters Company.

Maj.(P) Adam Kowalski was promoted to the rank of ‘Lieutenant Colonel’ during a Friday afternoon ceremony at Trophy Point, West Point, N.Y.

Kowalski (USMA ’10), who previously served as the Officer-in-Charge of Mologne Cadet Health Clinic, culminated his time at West Point as the Installation Flight Surgeon.

The ceremony was emceed by Lt. Col. Samuel Teague, Chief, Primary Care Department, Keller Army Community Hospital; his family removed his (old) rank and placed his (new) rank on his uniform; and Col. Brent Lechner, U.S. Military Academy Surgeon, administered the ‘Oath of Office’. Additionally, Kowalski was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his service to Keller Army Community Hospital, Mologne Cadet Health Clinic, and the West Point community, culminating in his position as the Installation Flight Surgeon.

CONGRATULATIONS to Pfc.(P) John Kim who promoted to the rank of ‘Specialist’ in the U.S. Army during a Friday afternoon ceremony at Keller Army Community Hospital, West Point, N.Y.

Kim is a 68Y MOS – Eye Specialist – working in the Ophthalmology Dept. at Keller. He works with optometrists and ophthalmologists to conduct diagnostic vision tests and help care for and treat patients with eye or vision problems.

Providing verbal accolade, congratulatory messages, and removing his old rank and placing his new rank is Col. Steven “Buck” Rogers, Ophthalmology Surgeon at Keller.

The Keller Army Community Hospital’s Public Health Department recognized the service of Kristi Pohlidal during a Thursday afternoon ceremony at Keller.

She received a Civilian Service Achievement Medal for meritorious achievement while serving as an Occupational Health Nurse at Keller. Her contributions were essential to the occupation health mission from July 2024 to May 2026.

Fortunately for Keller, she will be transferring to Keller’s Quality Department as a Risk Manager.

Today, Keller Army Community Hospital recognizes Memorial Day.

It is always customary to spend time remembering and honoring the countless Veterans who have served the United States throughout the country’s history.

On this day, Memorial Day 2025, we commemorate the men and women who died while in the military service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or because of wounds sustained in battle.

The purpose of Memorial Day is to memorialize the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. We spend time remembering those who lost their lives and could not come home, reflecting on their service and why we have the luxury and freedom that we enjoy today.

In remembering the fallen, we should also consider how we can support and safeguard their grieving families and loved ones who are left behind: the spouses, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, and friends. There really aren’t proper words, but we do live in gratitude each and every day for the precious gift that they have given to us.

To those men and women that gave the ‘ultimate sacrifice’…Keller Army Community Hospital salutes you.
