Last week, our leaders were 🎵 workin’ at the car wash! 🎵🚗🫧

As part of this year’s Employee Giving Campaign, colleagues came together to support the Employee Assistance Fund, which helps team members facing unexpected hardships. Thanks to their generosity, our first-ever Car Wash for a Cause was a success!

Congratulations to our raffle winners, whose cars received the VIP treatment from Tower Health President and CEO Michael Stern and Reading Hospital President and CEO Dr. Charles Barbera. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make a difference for fellow team members during times when they need it most. 💙

“A stroke? That won’t happen to me.”

It’s a common thought, but stroke can affect people of all ages, even those who feel healthy.

As comes to a close, Dr. Shahin Manoochehri reminds us that risk factors like high blood pressure and high cholesterol often have no warning signs. That’s why regular checkups matter.

Know the signs. Remember BE FAST:
• Balance
• Eyes
• Face
• Arms
• Speech
• Time

If you notice any stroke symptoms, call 9-1-1 right away. Time is brain. ⏱️🧠

A stroke can affect many parts of daily life, including the ability to speak, swallow, think, read, write, or find the right words. But you don’t have to navigate recovery alone. This Stroke Awareness Month and National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, we’re recognizing the important role speech-language pathologists play in stroke recovery.

Speech-language pathologists help patients rebuild communication, memory, attention, thinking skills, and swallowing through personalized therapy and strategies designed to support recovery and improve daily life.

Our teams offer:
🗣️ Speech therapy
💬 Language therapy
🧠 Cognitive therapy
🎤 Voice therapy
🥤 Swallowing therapy

The brain is capable of creating new pathways after a stroke, and therapy can help support that healing process, especially in the first few months after a stroke.

Thank you to our speech-language pathologists for the care, support, and encouragement they provide patients every day! 💙
