The Athletic Trainer's Society of New Jersey mourns the passing of Greg Tufaro. The recipient of our 2025 President's Award, Greg was a renowned sports journalist and more recently, chief of staff to Senator Patrick Diegnan. He was a staunch advocate for athlete safety initiatives, and a long-time supporter of athletic trainers here in New Jersey. As a result of profound personal loss, he and his wife formed the Marisa Tufaro Foundation, which provided support and financial help to families of children facing significant health challenges and illness. Above all, Greg was a beloved husband, father, mentor, and friend to so many who knew him. His legacy will be measured not only in the lives he has touched, but in the lives saved due to his advocacy on issues like cardiac safety and protections here in New Jersey. We send our deepest condolences to his wife Cyndi, his family, and all who are mourning his passing.

It's official - Governor Sherrill signed S-4113/A-4821, entering New Jersey into the Athletic Trainer Compact.

Our members made this happen. When we asked you to email the Governor's office, you showed up. New Jersey now joins nurses, physicians, psychologists, PAs, and physical therapists in having interstate licensure mobility - and as a corridor state between PA and NY, that matters for ATs working right up against those borders.

Advocacy works. Thank you for being part of it. 🎉
