Dear valued patients & friends, March 24, 2020
As you may imagine, we have had a number of inquiries regarding whether or not our clinics are open for patient care given the COVID – 19 virus.
To answer this question, the Department of Homeland Security has listed us, among other fellow healthcare providers, as key members of the “Essential Critical Workforce Infrastructure.”
In an official statement issued this week, the American Physical Therapy Association, in compliance with CDC guidelines, stated that the health care provided by physical therapists “plays a crucial role in the health of our society, and there are people in our communities whose health will be significantly impacted by disruptions to care.”
As healthcare providers within the essential critical workforce infrastructure and in our profession’s ongoing commitment and continuing effort to provide those in need of un-interrupted healthcare services, we continue to remain open for patient care.
As per the CDC’s current recommendations healthcare facilities, we will be adhering to the following:
1. Patient screening – If you have symptoms or feel like you might be becoming ill, we ask that you remain home. Nearly every health care insurance is now covering telehealth care. We are fully equipped to provide patients with this remote style of care should patients be unable to leave their homes due to illness and for those who may be immuno-compromised. We will also be screening all patients for symptoms as they arrive.
2. 10 person rule – In compliance with the CDC recommendation to not congregate in groups larger than 10 people, we will be scheduling patients accordingly. We have extended our clinic hours to accommodate this recommendation.
3. We are fully stocked and have in full use and practice all CDC recommended cleaning and personal protection supplies.
As we pass through these unsettling times together, we sincerely seek the very best of health for everyone. As such, we will be limiting our free monthly evening workshops to 10 people or less until the CDC recommendation is no longer in place.
