We are so excited to announce our two newest additions!

Lindsay Powers, t‑LMHC, brings a rare depth of understanding to her work — shaped not only by her experience as a police officer, but also by her life as a fire wife. She knows the culture, the pressures, the unspoken expectations, and the emotional weight that first responders and their families carry every day.

With Lindsay, you don’t have to explain the basics. You can simply arrive as you are. The uniform doesn’t define you here, and you’re free to speak openly without judgment, without needing to translate your world for someone else. She offers a grounded, compassionate space where your story is understood from the inside out.

Lindsay provides therapy exclusively via telehealth, making support accessible, flexible, and private — wherever you are. You can email her to schedule at [email protected].

Kate Ness, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Student Intern, brings meaningful experience from her work on a crisis intervention team as a co‑responder, where she collaborated closely with law enforcement during high‑stress and high‑stakes situations. Her understanding runs even deeper through her own upbringing in a law enforcement household, giving her firsthand insight into the culture that shapes first responder family life.

Supporting first responders and military members is not just an interest for Kate — it’s a genuine passion! She is committed to providing mental health care that honors your experience, meets your needs, and offers a space where you can speak openly and be understood.

Kate is offering Pro Bono services, and you can schedule with her at [email protected].

Come join us as we rally around Barry!

Over the next several days, we will be taking some time to recognize our incredible sponsors that help make our HYROX Sims possible.

We want to thank Front Line Therapy LLC for supporting us as our Athlete Warm-Up Area Sponsor.

Front Line Therapy delivers specialized mental‑health support to help first responders and military members build resilience and maintain wellbeing in the face of frequent high‑stress, critical events.

Front Line Therapy is a PERFECT sponsor for this event as we support West Des Moines Police Officer Barry Graham and his courageous fight against prostate cancer.

Thank you, Front Line Therapy!

Not just helping, but healing!

It is such a gift to witness the healing EMDR brings to our clients that are repeatedly exposed to some of most tragic and/or heinous elements of humanity.

For officers burdened by trauma, EMDR offers relief without reliving the pain

Please consider supporting Officer Barry Graham August 8th. Come participate, spectate, or donate as we come together to uplift him. Every show of support makes a difference!

At NLXF, we’ve always believed that fitness is about more than working out. It’s about showing up for each other when life gets hard.

Many of you have likely crossed paths with Barry Graham at the gym over the last several months. He’s a husband of 23 years to his wife, Jacki, a father of three boys, and someone who has spent his career serving our community as a law enforcement officer with West Des Moines.

If none of that rings a bell, you’ve probably heard the very strong Irish accent around the gym. That accent isn’t fake. That’s Barry. Since the day Barry joined the gym, he instantly became one of my favorite people to be around. He’s sarcastic, fun and even on his worst days, you’d never know he’s having a rough day. I think most people that know Barry would describe him in a very similar way.

Barry is now facing the toughest fight of his life after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. He and his family are currently awaiting additional testing to determine the extent of the cancer and the best path forward.

While we can’t fight Barry’s battle for him, we can stand beside him every step of the way. That’s where the NLXF army comes in.

Beginning with our July 11 HYROX Full Sim, we’re launching a fundraiser to support Barry and his family.

• For the remainder of 2026, including our July 11 HYROX Full Sim, 100% of registration proceeds from the following groups will be donated directly to Barry and his family:
* Law Enforcement
* Active Military
* Veterans
* Firefighters
* EMTs
Anyone in one of these professions can use code BARRY when registering to receive 20% off their registration, and 100% of their registration fee will go directly to Barry and his family.

You can register for the July HYROX Sim with that code at: https://www.webscorer.com/nlxfhyrox

Our August HYROX Full Sim will be dedicated entirely to Barry.

Here’s how we’re helping:
• $20 from every Individual registration and $40 from every Doubles registration will be donated directly to Barry and his family.

We will also be announcing other fundraising efforts for Barry in the coming weeks.

Registration will open for the August HYROX Sim/Fundraiser next week.

When I shared this idea with Barry at the gym last week, he became emotional. He couldn’t believe our community would be willing to rally around him like this.

Now let’s show him just how many people are in his corner.

Please help us spread the word. My goal is to have Barry at our August HYROX Sim so he can see firsthand the incredible community standing behind him.

Barry, you’ve spent your life serving others.

Now it’s our turn to serve you.

Every Push. Every Pull. Every Rep. For Barry.

As National Police Week 2026 concludes, we take time to reflect on the officers and their families who made the ultimate sacrifice. Policing is an incredibly dangerous profession, and I was honored to serve nearly 4,000 survivors this year, alongside the best support services team made up of other first responder clinicians, the United States Marshals, Law Enforcement Peer Support Teams, Police Chaplains, and surviving spouses from all corners of this great country. Although we pray there will never be another line-of-duty death, our commitment to supporting those enduring deep grief and loss will always remain steadfast.

Today marks 5 years since Sgt. Jim Smith’s end of watch. His service, leadership, and sacrifice are not forgotten.

In his honor, several of our team members completed the Sgt. Smith Hero WOD—pushing through together the same way he always showed up for others.

We remember. We honor. We carry it forward.
