🚨 Upcoming event: FREE STI TESTING 'Know your status" 🚨

FPCI will be participating in a free STI-testing day with the Polk County Health Department at Urban Dreams - Iowa on August 26 from 10am to 3pm.

Health Department staff will be on site at Urban Dreams (1615 2nd Ave, Des Moines) offering full panel STI testing. Everyone who completes the full panel testing will receive a $10 QuikTrip giftcard!

FPCI staff will be on site as well to discuss how you can receive high-quality, affordable s*xual and reproductive healthcare with Title X.

It's Back to School Season! 😊

Since HPV vaccination was introduced in the U.S. in 2006, among vaccinated women, the percentage of cervical precancers caused by the HPV strains most often linked to cervical cancer has dropped 40%.

Vaccination can start as early as 9 years of age. Title X family planning clinics can offer HPV vaccination and other preventive health services, and you can locate them using our clinic locator.

Standard STI screenings and antibiotic treatments can detect and take care of most infections regardless of location. However, if you're having unprotected a**l s*x, you should talk with your provider about any additional STI screenings, like a**l swabs, you might need to get.

As with other areas affected by STIs, early detection and treatment are key to preventing the spread of disease to others and protecting your personal health.
