Leadership Spotlight

Meet Shay, Deputy Director and one of the leaders helping guide quality improvement efforts across the Midwest QIN-QIO.

Her journey at Mountain Pacific began with providing technical assistance and support directly to providers. Since then, she has taken on additional contracts and leadership responsibilities, expanding her quality improvement expertise and strengthening her ability to help teams navigate complex needs.

One of the things she values most is the opportunity to learn from colleagues across Mountain Pacific and Telligen. Working alongside professionals with diverse expertise has helped her gain new perspectives and continue growing as a leader.

Today, a key part of her role is empowering employees to think creatively, streamline systems, improve processes, and develop best practices that strengthen both internal operations and provider support.

At the center of it all is a simple purpose:

"We get to assist healthcare entities to improve their methods and ultimately improve patient outcomes."

And beyond the work? She played collegiate basketball, loves hot dogs, and enjoys unwinding with a walk with her family and dog.

Strong quality improvement starts with people who are willing to learn, collaborate, and find better ways forward. Connect with the Midwest QIN-QIO to learn how our team can support yours: https://midwestcmsqinqio.com/about-us/contact-us/

Research changes what we know. Quality improvement changes what we do with it.

On World Breast Cancer Research Day, we recognize the research that continues to move prevention, early detection, treatment, and care forward.

But progress doesn't stop with discovery. It happens when evidence becomes action.

Healthcare organizations can help make that happen by strengthening screening processes, improving follow-up, reducing missed opportunities for early detection, and making evidence-based care part of everyday practice.

This Aug. 18, think about one opportunity to make prevention or early detection stronger in your organization.

Ready to turn evidence into action? Midwest QIN-QIO offers practical tools, proven strategies, and quality improvement support to help you take the next step.
