“I never would have thought I had issues with my spine if you hadn’t pointed it out.”

That’s what one golfer told me after improving his torso rotation and reducing the stress he was feeling during his swing.

Many golfers assume the area that hurts is the problem. More often, it’s a movement limitation somewhere else that’s forcing the body to compensate.

Pain is a signal. Understanding what’s causing it is where real progress begins.

Think your body might be limiting your swing? Let’s find out.

Ready to uncover what’s holding back your rotation and performance? Schedule a call and let’s discuss your goals.

Our faces in these photos from today’s workout might look intense.

But what it really shows is:

Me: locked in.
Mom: invested.
Tucker: taking his role as quality control very seriously.

Why?

We’re prioritizing working on more years of adventures, memories, and quality time.

Quality time together doesn’t always look like dinner out or family photos. Sometimes it looks like squats, dumbbells, and coaching cues.

The strongest investment we can make isn’t in today, it’s in all the tomorrows we’re hoping to enjoy.

💬What are you doing today that your future self will thank you for?

One of the most common things I hear is:

“I’m getting older… I guess aches and pains are just part of life now.”

They don’t have to be.

Yes, discomfort becomes more common with age. That doesn’t mean it should be accepted as normal.

Your body often gives you clues long before a bigger problem develops.

Feeling stiff when you get out of bed.
Avoiding long walks.
Holding back during workouts.
Skipping activities you used to enjoy.

Those aren’t random inconveniences.

They’re signals.

The sooner you understand what your body is telling you, the more options you have to keep doing the things you love.

💬If you’re noticing changes in how your body moves and want to better understand what those signals might mean, let’s have a conversation about your goals and what may be holding you back.

A big thank you to Danny for trusting me to take a closer look at how his body and swing work together.

Danny is an avid golfer who continues to play well, but recently started noticing some tightness that hadn’t been there before. Rather than waiting for it to become a bigger issue, he wanted to better understand what his body might be telling him.

Golfers often spend countless hours working on swing changes, but sometimes the missing piece isn’t in the swing itself. It’s in the body’s ability to perform the movement being asked of it.

💬If you’ve been working on the same swing issue, noticing new tightness, or simply want a better understanding of how your body may be affecting your game, schedule a call and let’s discuss your goals and whether a TPI assessment is right for you.

Great night teaming up with Alisa to bring together two key pieces of healthy aging, strength training and nutrition!

We discussed why maintaining strength is essential for longevity and independence, why your exercise program needs to be challenging enough to create meaningful change, and how proper nutrition supports those strength goals.

When physical therapy and nutrition work together, clients are better equipped to stay active, capable, and confident doing the things they love.

💬Want to learn how strength training and nutrition can work together to support your goals? Schedule a free call and let’s talk.

Assisted living can cost thousands of dollars every month.

Working with a physical therapist who helps you build strength, improve balance, maintain mobility, and stay active costs less than losing your independence does.

The reality is that resistance training isn’t just exercise. It’s one of the best investments you can make in your future self.

Every workout is a deposit into your future ability to do the things you love.

Most people think of healthcare as something they need when a problem shows up. I believe the better approach is investing in your body before those problems become limitations.

At Mint Condition, we help active adults build strength, confidence, and resilience so they can continue living life on their terms for years to come.

💬If staying active, independent, and capable is important to you, what are you doing today to invest in the person you want to be 10- 20 years from now?

Schedule a free consult call and let’s discuss how a personalized strength and mobility plan can help you stay active and independent for years to come.

Confidence doesn’t come from avoiding challenges, it comes from working through them with the right guidance and support.

This review highlights something we focus on every day at Mint Condition, helping people stay active, capable, and confident long term. Recovery is not just about short term relief, it’s about building strength, understanding your body, and creating habits that keep you moving forward.

Thank you, Kathryn, for trusting the process and putting in the work.

💬If you’re ready to stop guessing and start building a plan that supports your goals long term, let’s talk about what that could look like for you.

Just got my new Tidal Tank set up, and this is going to be a game changer for how I treat and train clients.

The Tidal Tank is a water-filled cylinder that acts like a constantly shifting load. Unlike a fixed weight, the water inside moves as you move, which creates an unpredictable resistance that your body has to continuously stabilize against. That means every rep becomes a challenge for balance, coordination, core control, and full-body stability in a very functional way.

For my active seniors and golfers, this is especially valuable because it trains the body to react and stabilize in real time, similar to how we move in daily life and sport. It builds strength, control, and confidence without relying on rigid, predictable loading.

If your lower quarter rotation test comes up limited, your hips are likely restricting your ability to rotate efficiently in your golf swing, and your body will usually find that motion somewhere else, often your low back.

The goal is not just “more flexibility,” it is usable hip rotation you can control under load and in standing positions.

Try these 3 exercises:

1. Hip 90/90 switches, to improve internal and external hip rotation control through range

2. Standing hip C.A.R.S., to build active rotational control at the hip joint

3. Single leg stance open book, to integrate hip stability with rotational mobility through the trunk

If you are unsure whether your hips are actually the limiting factor in your swing or you want to connect this test to your movement pattern on the course, let’s take a look together and map out a plan that fits your game.
