Why did Neoss choose a flat connection over a conical one?
It comes down to Intelligent Simplicity, making smart design choices with a clear purpose.
The Neoss implant-abutment connection uses a flat internal connection by design. Under load, forces are primarily transferred as compression, which titanium is particularly well suited to handle.
The screw has an important role too. It’s intentionally designed as a mechanical safeguard, giving way under excessive load before the implant itself is damaged.
Hear Neoss co-founder Fredrik Engman explain the biomechanics behind the design and why these principles have been part of Neoss from the start.
