Our Providers are TRUMPETING a grand WELCOME to Ellie Mental Health - Westerville OH! Ellie is expanding their mission of making mental health care accessible in every community by bringing it to the patients of WPS.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 1 in 5 U.S. children ages 3–17 has a mental, emotional, behavioral, or developmental disorder. WPS has joined forces with Ellie to make sure all our patients can have access to any mental health support they may need.

The final countdown to the start of school has begun! Whether off to kindergarten or college, many schools are requesting immunization records. Did you know you can access those records 24 hours a day through your patient portal? Access your portal and navigate to “My Health.” It’s that simple!

According to Consumer Product Safety Commission, nearly half of fireworks injuries to children under age 5 are related to sparklers.

• Sparklers burn at an extremely high heat: 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. That's hot enough to melt some metals!
• Sparks can ignite clothing on fire and cause eye injuries.
• Touching a lit sparkler to skin can result in third-degree burns.

Try This Instead: Wave a flag or glow stick instead of a sparkler!

SUMMER is HERE, which means POOL TIME! But before everyone jumps in, did you know that drowning is the leading cause of death in U.S. children in children ages 1-4? Teens and children with some medical conditions are also at higher risk of drowning. The American Association of Pediatrics just updated their Drowning Prevention Recommendations. Check them out and stay safe!

Grass Pollen is Topping the Chart This Week! Allergens can cause all of us to feel a bit crummy. You can reduce the impact of pollen on your little ones with a few simple tips.

1) Keep doors and windows closed at home.
2) Wash your child's hands and face with soap and water when they come inside.
3) Avoid keeping dirty clothes that have been outside in your child's bedroom.
4) A bath before bed helps wash the pollen down the drain instead of spreading it on the bedding.
