Looking for cleaning tips to stay ahead of this season’s germs? Here’s a tip that may not be top-of-mind for everyone: action figures, small plastic toys, and Legos can be sanitized in the dishwasher with a gentle cycle. Be sure to put the toys in a mesh bag or dishwasher basket to prevent pieces from falling into the bottom of the dishwasher.

1) Turn off the water while brushing their teeth. ("Save some water for the fishies!")

2) Turn lights off when leaving a room. ("Save some light for the other families who need it!")

- Stuffed animals and treasured blankies are delights of every little one. Especially when they are not feeling well. Don’t let these comfort items pass back the germs the family just got over! Many stuffed toys are washing machine safe (check the tags) while others should be hand washed.

Today is World Health Day (April 7, 2026). World Health Day, as part of World Health Week, is a global celebration of health awareness. The 2026 theme is "Together for Health. Stand with Science." We are seeing an increase of strep throat with our patients. Some tips to reduce the severity and to keep it from spreading through the family are:
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Wash hands frequently
- Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
- Don't share drinks or food with others
